I was thinking about replacing the pickups in my strat and was wondering if anyone has any experience with replacement pickups in a strat I've got kindof-a country twang sound goin on but I want to reduce the transients a bit (the twang) and get a bit of a smoother response? thanks Kenny Holcomb

Kenny,
That is a great question. I am going to see if someone can answer this for you next week and we will run it in the newsletter.
Thanks!
Brian

thanks Brian this is a great thing you have here, a wonderfull community epecialy on the lyric board.I originaly came here with the intent of just promoting myself and then move on but after reading the lyric boards, I found such a nice sense of comunity I have joined, bookmarked and spend most of my internet time here and have even found a realy great lyricist to colaborate with, what an incredible experiance, I have even gone to two chapter meetings in Balto. that I didn't know existed.Well I knew Balto. existed but I didn't know they have a songwriters association. Anyway I do still promote myself here a little bit like this....(I can't help it) peace Kenny [This message has been edited by Kenny Holcomb (edited 01-28-2001).]

Great pickups and only 40$ and not only smooth your sound out but with gain plus they're noiseless and still retain the single coil tone and more. They also carry a line for GIBSONS too and He and his wife BECKY are wonderful and honest people. BILL'S been around a long time and made a guitar, he does that too, for ROY BUCHANON. Hope this helps. Take Care, TOMMY............
May your LORD bless YOU

thank you Blueseye yes it helps a lot there are so many brands and varieties. I found some bill lawrance pickups in the stewart macdonald catalog but can't find their web site yet. I hope I'm not the first to break the news to you but Roy passed away here a little while back don't have many details, the ones I have aren't very good, guess he lived a hard life, or just never settled down or something anyway be cool.
