I'm uncertain what route to take. I feel there should be more out there for songwriters. Were always running into frauds playing with our dreams. And I feel maybe some advertisements could lead us in a better direction. I also feel songwriters need more acknowledgement over their work. If it wasn't for songwriters there wouldn't be singers. Can you let me know what company should a songwriter work with. This can give me ideas over me writing songs. I used to sing. Once I sung at Tulsa city limits (TCL) when it was open. Where alot of familiar Artist performed. But based over an illness I'm not able to sing anymore. My illness grew worse over time. Now the only time I sing is like around the house. I do write songs and I have a website if you would like to check the site out. I try to get in contact with all singers and songwriters-publishers and producers so on. If you have any questions let me know. Thank you, Karen Johnson Cleveland, Ok. 74020 These two websites are www.countrymusicplanet.com/karenjohnson I also have another site that displays the songs I have written. This site can connect you to the country music planet. This other website is: www.monk-music.com Myspace: www.myspace.com/karenlorraine ------------------ Karen Johnson

Im sure other people here will have more detailed and better advice. That said, heres mine. Join NSAI (nashville songwriters association international) , They are a great organization and have songwriter workshops around the country. They also offer a free(to members) song evalauation service. I have learned alot from them and i cant see anyway it couldnt benefit you as well. Hope this helps, good luck and keep trying!!

Hey Karen, I 2nd the previous post! NSAI is great because they focus on education and improving the craft, as well as offering opportunities to network with other songwriters, especially at meetings. The evals are great. I don't always agree with them, but they definitely have value. JPF is a great place, too. IF you have time, you can comb through, literally, thousands of topics on the various boards that deal with all sorts of issues, like who is and isn't reputable. Most of all, don't give up if you love it, we all going through these low periods, and frankly, they suck, but they pass. They really do. ------------------ Keep posting, Ashleigh www.ashleighwehmeyer.com www.firecrackerfairy.com

Thank you all for the helpful info. I have recently became a member of the NSAI. And I'm waiting to see what kind of an outcome this will be. I have worked so hard over the music songwriting since I'm unable to sing anymore. Sheree from the NSAI has been really kind and helpful. So I appreciate everyone that has helped me in the music industry.

Karen,
Don't ask me how I got you mixed up with Lisa. Sorry about that. I thought I was replying to someone else. That is why you have my reply to Lisa on your post.
Sorry,
DAC
