One of my not too frequent dives into humor. Loosely inspired by a green car I saw outside a pizza establishment on one of my many walks during last year's warm season.

LEAN, GREEN DRIVING MACHINE

c2020 Brian Beecher

My lean, green driving machine
It makes my gal feel like a queen
And it so often speaks to me
Quite a sight for the world to see

What would nurture me right now
Would be to take it into town
To experience a variety of things
Before I buy my gal a ring

Could feel pulled in a few directions
While keeping it to near perfection
I didnít think Iíd ever see
My dream turn into reality

I could be feeling everything
And folks may be misinterpreting
The reasons why I got this car
But it wonít get them very far

My lean, green driving machine
Nothing like I saw in dreams
Pinch and step back, take a breath
Find out whatís really being said

Of course with the rush that Iím feeling\
Beneath my carís feet Iíll be kneeling
May be the best car on the scene
My lean, green driving machine

Soon it could be time to retreat
Till I am steady on my feet
Enough to come out and face the world
And then call up my favorite girl

For a good portion of the day
We will be driving far away
With little action taking place
Looking into each otherís face

My lean, green driving machine
It makes my gal feel like a queen
And it so often speaks to me
Quite a sight for the world to see
What would nurture me right now
Would be to take it into town
To experience a variety of things
Before I buy my gal a ring
