I prefer Sting in the Police, his solo stuff got kind of boring ...to ME anyway, as masterful as he is. And I agree, how many songwriters out there, or here can say, Sting is my major influence. I think what this guy is not saying is that Sting is a student of ALL kinds of music, Jazz, Reggae, Rock, Pop, Classical, World music, and he manages to mix them all together, and make it work. Really is incredible musician and songwriter...and that voice too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPucwp3uyCE
Yeah, since you posted one of his videos before, ive been watching everything he puts out. I think he's awesome, even some of the bands and songs he analyzes, i dont care for, he makes you see why its good.
And ive heard Fortress around my Heart, hundreds of times and never noticed the intricacy of it. It's unusual for a pop artist to be so successful with this kind of music, most artists trying to do this will put you to sleep. It's all in the pop melodies I think
I heard this guy Rick got into some trouble for using the songs, but I thought when used for educational purposes its supposed to be ok. Dont know how it works if you get paid. But hes still going and nobody seems to be bothered by it

"The standard by which I now measure the things in my life is the following: If I was on my death bed, or if I knew I had a short time to live, would this issue be important? If the answer is no.. I don't sweat it at all. If the answer is Yes, you better believe it goes to the front of the order of today's business!" -Brian Austin Whitney
