https://soundcloud.com/wabash-cannibal/hills-of-geronimoCraig did the guitar and vocals... Hills of Geronimo ©2011 Craig Bickhardt/Robert George BMI I grip my iron Appaloosa Far out in the Arizona night Cold echoes from the red rock canyons Join me in my midnight ride I faintly hear the phantom war cries Where proud Apache once called home are those marauding ghosts behind me Or the moon reflecting off my chrome In the hills of Geronimo A kingdom will be brought low Hist’ry robs us of all we call holy It crumbles so slowly here Like the hills of Geronimo
I ride these haunted, crooked highways Among the bones of old mesquite And the lion’s roar of my old Harley Brands a disappearing breed Like it feels a lonely kinship With a people who died wild and proud Fightin’ in defense of freedom’s birth rite Is what this land is all about In the hills of Geronimo A kingdom will be brought low Hist’ry robs us of all we call holy It crumbles so slowly here Like the hills of GeronimoThe ride is rough beyond the highway signs But at least I know the road is mine I’d rather risk it all and sometimes lose Than cruise along on roads I did not chooseIn the hills of Geronimo A kingdom will be brought low Hist’ry robs us of all we call holy It crumbles so slowly here Like the hills of Geronimo
The hills of Geronimo The hills of Geronimo…

Might be your best collab yet. Love the guitar hook, wish he woulda stopped sooner at the end...too many repeats, lol but really good stuff. Reminds me of Tracy Chapmans Fast car guitar wise, or Dust In The Wind, yet its own

I read the lyric first so I could just listen, and I was really expecting a rock song! This sounds like the "unplugged" version to me... Still very well done

Thanks guys. There's a version 2 but I clicked on it and it said, "file not found". This is the only version I've got.

I like it how it is. You could defintly make it into a rocker, and I see what Japov means, the lyric is a guy riding on a bike. But its also reflective and traveling at night seems to be slower than traveling in the day, more intimate and lonesome.
Think this guy did a great job. Hooks you right from the start.
