Howdy JPF, it's great to back and alive in 2021 after a dismal 2020 started off with a massive heart attack, coding in the ER and resuscitation. Then COVID and cancer....so yeah, 😎🤘....battered and bruised but alive.

I also recently lost my father who was a great and kind man, Viet Nam Vet and patriot. So I wrote a song that let's me not only honor his legacy but that also deals with the regret and loss we all feel when someone we love and respect passes on.

This song is perfection. It takes a lot to make me cry and now I can't stop. What a tribute. From the lyric to the music to your outstanding voice, it doesn't get any better. Your father would be so proud of his son who told the world how much he loved his dad. WOW!!!!

A really well done love song between a Father and His Son. Your lyrics describe the pain, the essence of being cut to the heart like only someone who has been through it could. Very appropriate for me to catch this on Valentines Day, a day to spend with those we love so dearly, especially before it is too late.

I echo the opinions above A moving lyric and delivery. You have a very expressive voice and the haunting, spare arrangement lets it shine. Sometimes simple is best. I enjoyed this very much in a sad way.

This is so beautifully done. Vocal is solid. I love the swelling guitars padding the mix and how they build. I'm curious how you got that sound, did you use a pedal or volume knob on the guitar itself (I've struggled with that)? Or is it actualy pedal steel?

My feedback is very minor on lyrics. It felt like one too many "On days like this" before "and the storm is gone" (also because it follows the same line before the solo). Seems better to me to not hear that line from after the solo until the very last line (so you're anticipating it more).

Oh...and Ant....Regarding your question of recording, it was recorded at Gruene Records in New Braunfels, Tx. I just did my vox and guitar parts and they filled in the blanks.
