Hi,

Just wrote these lyrics, listening to Remy Zero's "Shattered"

The Illusion

Verse 1)
From moment one, to the end of everyone. She smiled and the sun bloomed like a rose.
What had they done? Chased a ember of light into the darkest of all nights.
And nobody knew, nobody saw, nobody felt the fall, we were just waiting for a better day.

Verse 2)
Eyes like a million suns, hands like ghosts, soft like the gentle waves of gravity around her.
If tomorrow never comes then we’re the lucky ones, chasing shadows.
Who could have known, we’d be the clowns, chasing light out of these towns.

Chorus)
The only illusion was your presence would be, until the day life would set you free.
And now the empty shapes the empty apes, all we are, are little lines stuck across a star.
The only illusion was you’d not leave, into the darkness of a world I fear to believe.

You walked away into the oblivion of not being here, I looked up into the emptiness
All that was left is the stillness of a life without you, even at night the sky is blue,
I’ll always be chasing my memories, not my reality.

I could be wrong... but I think I'm sensing a patriotic undertone here. I like it, pure poetry!
