Fresh from Tony's garage smile

https://www.soundclick.com/music/songInfo.cfm?songID=14198189

I've known plenty of ladies that would paralyze your reasoning
Spent plenty of nights in a hot wet frenzy
I've even been the victim of a dizzy blondes' appetite
She rolled me over once, rolled me over twice
Took me home and kept me up all night

But don't get me wrong, this ain't a song about fantasy
When it's all said and done you know it ain't nothing but a thang'
I may be lonely but I've got a lot of memories
I've had my mind stroked, I got my heart broke
But I wish some sweet thing would come and do it again

Now you may think I'm crazy, you may think I've lost my mind
But boys let me tell you there's something to be said for trying
As long as I'm playing you know I figure I can't loose
If she loves me a lot or just plays the part
Any love at all is sure better than nothing

If she rolls you over once, rolls you over twice
Plays with your heart or just plays with your mind
Loves you a lot or just passes the time
Well boys, it's better than nothing

The opening line is as good as it gets. Really fine production, Love the vocals. I hear some interesting harmonies you could throw in, in spots. Very cool man.

Thanks Steve. I really did try hard to give this one some nice clean dynamic atmosphere, but I think I buried the drums...

Awesome guitars...................love the rhythm. I dig the way this all comes together.
Great groove, and the lyrics are.............................are........provocative.

Japov,

I loved the clean airy production. Great attitude with the vocals--kept me riveted. Music fabulous and loved the panning. I don't think you're losing your drums, rather "maybe" turn down volume 1-2 db on "left" guitar rhythm licks. That will IMO, balance the mix ever so slightly and open the drums up a bit more. It can be amazing at a polishing stage how 1 db can make a difference. Many guys conversely start raising a volume tracks which can lead to needing to raising another which can create a vicious circle which begins to encroach needed head room.

This was fabulous--great performance, cool lyrics, musicianship, arrangement, melody, & enjoyed the funk-rock vibe..........

Well written and well done.

I love these lines:
If she rolls you over once, rolls you over twice
Plays with your heart or just plays with your mind
Loves you a lot or just passes the time
Well boys, it's better than nothing

Great guitar: Solo, rhythm and bass.

Oh yeah! Good one, Tony. I think Steve and Tom pretty much said it all, and I agree. The lyrics and the vocal performance really draw you in and the guitars are great. At the end of the first verse, I thought those last two lines had a bit of a chorusy feel to them and I wonder how it would be if you repeated them. You echo the "She rolled me over once, rolled me over twice" line at the end and it feels even more chorusy. Not that this needs a chorus in the conventional sense, it just got me thinking because melodically that line is still in my head.

Thanks Eddie! I've definitely been trying to pay more attention to "headroom" and ease up on the compression in favor of dynamics lately... but it's just so hard for a old guitar picker lol! You're right, my first instinct was to try and brighten the drums a bit... Still learning smile

This might be one of your better tracks Japov. The rock and roll vamp guitar lick has been used so often in the past, but I dont think ive heard it used in quite a while...lol music has gone away from that

I like the guitar licks sounds a bit like Grateful Dead

But main reason I like it is cause it's more vibrant and not as scary as some of your other songs. lol

Straight forward rock n roll enjoyed.

Nice rocker....but very similar to my "Apples and Oranges"...I may sue. But since my song has made only 38 cents, you're off the hook for now.
LOL!
Kidding!

Nice write and tune brother!

German shepherds have many sterling qualities, but border collies are just smarter.
