Ever move back "home" after many years away only to realize you were already home?

LEAVING HOME

V1
I moved home from East Texas after Daddy died.
Had to wipe the tears away that filled up Mama's eyes.
Be closer with my baby, how those ties that bind, unwind.
I set my sights on home forget the one I left behind.

V2
I settled on the Rolling Hills
just north of where Iz raised. Close enough to San Antone, too close to my old crazy ways.
But Mama's no longer crying, the boys will never change,
and baby's now a lady, dont need Daddy anyways.

Ch
I left my job in Gun Barrel City,
a love in Jacksonville.
Cedar Creek Lake sure looks pretty
like the stars behind these hills.
I left my father, son and the holy ghost somewhere on the side of the road.
I didn't know until I was already gone, I was leaving home.

Dont cry, Mama, I'll be right there.
Baby call me anytime, just tell me "when and where."
Tell the boys, I'll see them soon,
but I wont be the same,
they may not like the change.

V3
As long as I'm alive. I'll call East Texas home,
where I'll stand a soldiers watch for those I love and left in San Antone. But my father's waiting patiently,
my son is all alone
and the holy ghost is whispering,
"Boy when ya coming home?"

I didn't know until I was gone....

I was Leaving home.

End.
