https://www.soundclick.com/music/songInfo.cfm?songID=14161229Whiskey Rose of another color Devil knows you're not my mother Keep drowning slow till you discover You're a perfect pose but you're not my lover Swimming away but the mirror's too deep Promises promises you never keep Getting harder to recognize My love behind those lying eyes Oceans emotions, ebb and high tide Endless forgiveness for meaningless nights Got to roll with the flow to avoid the fight Cause that damn bottle has drank my wife Whiskey Rose of another color Devil knows you're not my mother Keep drowning slow till you discover You're a perfect pose but you're not my lover

Love the riff running through. Just a query on this line: Should it be, "YOUR love behind those lying eyes?

A nice listen, JAPOV. I'm still learning things from you. I could listen to the solo all day. Nice guitar work!

Really love the vibe of this...Very cool work
Maybe needs a musical break off the Am?
A quick turnaround F-G-Am as a little refrain or semi bridge somewhere should do the trick. You could throw some lyrics on it too to hammer home your thought line. This type of turn around allows you to get right back to your Am vibe easily and not disturb the flow
I feel a little musical variety would take this up a notch since your solo is still on the Am. BTW, I like the Acoustic Guitar solo, but since it is the same Am vibe, I would get a little contrast in here somewhere
Just a thought...

I actually debated that lol... it does work either way. But I decided, since "Whiskey Rose" is my X-wife.... Thanks for tuning in Vic!

I agree, it does beg for a change-up! But since I nailed it at 3:40, I figure I'll save that for the live album

This has a killer groove. The lyrics are really good. My suggestions are to look at moving the solo to after the second verse. Just felt it needed a change of pace there and drags on a bit into verse 3. With the solo after verse 2, then consider adding some of acoustic guitar flourishes at the end of each line on the 3rd and 4th verses (call and response style). This keeps the song the same length but brings the solo up to the 1:30 mark, provides more build towards the end and gives some contrast between the repeated first and fourth verse.

I know you're right! I've actually been messing around with adding little piano bits after the 2nd verse to break things up, but I haven't found the right "funky" chord yet... It'll come to me lol. Thanks for dredging this one back up Anthony
