I like the loose, live feel of this production. I think I like the lyric too, but it was a bit hard to make out in places as the singer got swallowed up in that loose arrangement.
The melody, more particularly the chorus, is close to Hotel California.

Bring the bass to "center" and forward in the mix a bit. Lot's of potential here with some production tweaks. I can here some Hotel C. as well, but I think you are fine and have altered the melody enough. I'm digging your vibe however!

Took me back to the 60's - except for that reverby snare I really liked this one - love the guitar solo and the spoken bits. Yeah Dylan fronting the Eagles might be a good comparison. Love the lyrics BTW Paul
