During peak seasons I have done delivery for a flower shops for the past several years. Last year at Christmas while out delivering mostly poinsettias I stopped at a convenience store and when I mentioned to the lady behind the counter that I was out delivering flowers, she quipped "Bring Me a Flower". This is what I got when I chose to make that a song title. Last of 2019 batch. Will begin posting my batch of 2020 shortly.
BRING ME A FLOWER
c2019 Brian Beecher
Baby I’ve been gone a while Now I wonder what do you love to do Have you been reading that good book That’s been sitting on your shelf
Might you like to go out for coffee And engage in conversation Let’s put aside our disagreements In the stories we may tell
I’ve been scanning the horizon Looking for some great adventure But have decided to hold steady Until it’s time to make a move, you said
Come to think of it just might be nice To get together, break the ice You’ve created something you’re proud of But you’ve got a lot to prove
Bring me a flower when you come It will be great to see you hon Might also be just what we need May be time to go for the gold When both our stories have been told With desire to go after dreams
The courage to follow your heart Can give our love a brand new start Giving everything the green light And saying “bring it on”
I feel you really know your stuff Time will tell if it will be enough For love to come out of the shadows After how long you’ve been gone
So bring me a flower when you come It will be great to see you hon Might also be just what we need May be time to go for the gold When both our stories have been told With desire to go after dreams
A desire to create something Magical to share with the world Could happen if we have vision And the will to make it go
Though you’ve been gone I would think of you I see you haven’t forgotten But now we have to put in the work What may happen we don’t know
Yes now we have to put in the work What may happen we don’t know
