Its been a longggg time since I heard something powerful from Bruce, lack of electric guitars always annoyed me, but this is one of the best tracks of q new album I've heard probably in 10-15 years. I'm not crazy about letter to you, this other single, but this sounds phenominal and has some fire and kick to it. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Lo5QNcFioZ4

Great track. His songs are always so simple, but so full of heart. You can't teach heart.

Yeah they always said musically they were commited to the garage rock model. Usually basic chord patterns, pop format, but every guy in this band are also great musicians . its about serving the song. You don't need a Nils Lofgren or a max weinberg for a simple garage band. His lyrical concepts are far from simple though, they are complex ideas that he manages to put across in a simple way . Heart check, intensity check, entertaining check, this track has it all, best thing hes done in a while. I see on the album song list he has a title called House of a thousand guitars, and Im wondering if he's covering Willie Niles house of a thousand guitars, cause they have worked together. Would love to hear the band rock out on this. Willies band knocks it out of the park too. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3qKjUeGji78

I'd say he is dead as far as a recording artist. Which is why I say this is the best track I've heard from him In a long while. I don't know why he keeps going, I guess he's been n doing it since 15, what do you do?
Why do you keep writing lyrics? Old habits die hard. And he still has an audience so why not, why do the stones keep going? They haven't had a good song in 30 years.
Its a great track though, no doubt about it, and why is Randy Newman writing I'm dead, didn't he die with I love La?
Glasses houses there Randy, sounds autobiographical.
But let me ask you a question, if nobody new is any good, and the old guys aren't allowed to make new music, what in the he'll do you listen to?
Hotel California? For the 999th time?

I don't keep writing lyrics. That's why I stopped. I was repeating myself. The last thing I wrote was The Walk of Time. And that, forgive my arrogance, had more fire than the mediocrity of Bruce's you posted. I don't think Bruce has had a single new musical idea since The River. And even those were recycled from Darkness. It's just that sides 2 and 3 are really catchy. Except for Point Blank, which is a Zzzzz.
There's plenty of old music out there. Classical, jazz, blues. The 60s themselves are a deep mine of musical gold.
I used to go to the movies all the time. Since they became a compost heap of comic book movies and woke nonsense, I stopped. I've got plenty of dvds and blu rays to watch. And with tv shows going woke, old shows on dvd have been calling my name.

Well sounds like you've built a very crammed sound asylum to live in.
I like jazz and blues too, I'd say the best jazz has already been done, your not going to find a Coltrane , or a Miles Davis again. I listened to Buddy Guys newest album, ok, but innovation in these styles is very difficult.
Point blank is a wonderful song, sad but beautiful .
I think, actually I know, that the river was a mix bag of tracks, that were thrown together to make the album. Its got a bit of everything, wonderful dirges like stolen car or wreck on the highway, rockers like I'm a rocker , ties that bind, crush on you. Underrated pop songs like fade away and drive all night . And apparently a ton of left out songs.
And I don't disagree that he hasn't done anything different musically, he never did, The River was not anything new, its bar band music, its always been that way, his later pop stuff comes up short.
But he did create the jersey shore sound you hear on first three records, and changed how bands performed on stage, he changed the game for live concerts. His innovations were lyrically , born in this USA a top ten hit about Vietnam? During the 80s?
Stones didn't do anything different either . Beatles much more so.

Wow we already got a drum cover of it...it don't take long. There isn't a Springsteen song, rare or popular that's not covered. Actually, there isn't ANY song not covered by somebody on YouTube. we have no chance so crowded. Guys pretty good. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lIL-JZiEgfI
