Gone is the innocence I wasn’t born in this world. The one I knew is gone. Swallowed by corruption a new age has dawned.
Gone is the innocence Morality has died the new god is technology the new truth is a lie.
Instagram and twitter are at our finger tips. Just google what you don’t know Why bother learning it? Money does the talking for the herders of the sheep Ready for the slaughter they provide a sumptuous feast.
No I wasn’t born in this place everything has changed. A little for the better but the rests a crying shame.
Gone is the innocence Morality has died. The new god is technology the new truth is a lie.
Marketing and glitter Appeal to greed and lust Ironic how the dollar Says in god we trust. Money does the talking while the zombies are asleep unaware unprepared their souls aren’t theirs to keep.
No I wasn’t born in this place everything has changed. A little for the better but the rests a crying shame.

This describes 2020 perfectly. Nice I think it describes the fall of morality from about 1970 on. Well done!

Much of what you write here took place even before the recent era, and in fact led up to the Great Depression. Wall Street and environs are like a holy city to many--a religion unto itself. On the plus side is that the fact that cigarettes, once considered nearly God-like, are now so vilified as they are banned in nearly all public facilities. One of those things I thought I'd never see in my lifetime. The crucifixion of life as we once knew it, sadly 80 percent for worse vs. 20 percent for better, IMO.

Depressing for us who have been around awhile. E very generation thinks the younger generation is going downhill but what's going on seems like a senseless nightmare. Im thankful for many technological advancements and medical advancements but socially and morally the world is going bankrupt.

In the hippie-fueled "free love" days, it was thought that the new generation of the time was going to lead us toward a situation where society's nurturing side may emerge, bringing up feelings of love and generosity. Wanting to connect with others mostly in person, as such things as Zoom and smartphones were well into the future. And, what happened to the thought that advanced technology was going to produce more leisure time? Meanwhile we may want to remember happy times and want to create more wonderful memories. In many ways that period was a dark time, yet there was also some playfulness in the air, which has largely disappeared now. There are many though who feel as though what innocence there was, if there ever indeed was that much, vanished on the day that JFK was murdered. Today it is said that folks aren't even making love that much despite being forced into semi-isolation by the current pandemic.

Pretty much agree although the creativity didn't stop with Kennedy's assination. Vietnam continued to fuel divisions. The mid seventies Began the downward spiral. Music has never recovered fully from disco.
