Folks,
I am sorry to let everyone know that long time JPFer Mary Lou Sudkamp has passed away after a long battle with Cancer.
The biggest drawback from having so many members and meeting them over the years is losing them as we all age.
If you knew Mary Lou, make sure to let your JPF friends who don't post here anymore know for us.
Thanks,
Brian

Sad news, Brian:
I did not make it to Pineyfest but remember a few of her posts. So sorry to hear about another JPF Member passing. May she rest in peace. Thanks for letting us know.
My high school classmates are disappearing fast and it is a constant reminder that life is short... then quickly gone.
----Dave

Dave, I recall you telling us where/when your photo was from, but can you remind me?

Hi Brian:
That photo of me was taken on Midway Island. Late 50's and I had just returned from tarmac watch where our squadron's Radar-Rigged Super Constellations were located. We would spend two weeks flying the "Barrier" to Adak Island up in the Aluetians and returning to Midway on each search mission. Flights would take 14 to 20 hours depending on the winds and weather. We had counter-part squadrons based in Labrador on the east coast and they would fly down to the Azores to extend the Radar Barrier in a big half-circle to reinforce the radar stations in Canada. How's that for a complex answer! ----Dave

I had a lot of Great Uncles and Grandfathers who fought just before you in WWII. Both Grandfathers in Europe (One in France/Germany, one in Italy and their outer islands). My uncle's were all at Pearl Harbor. All made it through that stage, but not through the war.

I did not know Her, but God bless Her and keep Her safe in the Father`s house.
that illness has caused so many to fall, sometimes I get mad at this world, years and years and countless money, it seems there is no closing on it, its as violent as ever. My guess is there is maybe a few that it has not touched in some fashion, I have more than one person in my life it has claimed.. Lane
