THEY BURNT OUR BIBLES. REWRITE
You better whisper, don't shout! Don't know who's SKULKING about People these days better pause because you know now there's new laws? Like those far off days of old we've got secret priest holes. Clandestine churches in caves and this other god to praise
They burnt our bibles we made more pulled down our churches BLOCKED their doors Took away every right we have told us that our ways were bad
Can't be seen with a crucifix if you do punishments quick. Still hiding not found us yet farewell brethren we won't forget Christian Sabbath has been banned no holding your brothers hand Christmas, Easter don't exist no more peace just angry fists
Warnings were given, there were too many signs blame it on those damn liberals, couldn't make up their minds
They burnt our bibles we made more pulled down our churches BLOCKED their doors Took away every right we have told us that our ways were bad
Folks climb mountains for a sign but there's no Moses this time God be angry we can't wait very soon it'll be too late They've discarded all our clothes for strange garments which they've chose Our clocks have returned to zero please Lord we need a hero
They burnt our bibles we made more pulled down our churches BLOCKED their doors Took away every right we have told us that our ways were bad

Yes, Beware the motives behind the racial divide! Eastern europe is all too aware of what awaits us if we don't put aside differences and unite. We will all lose.

I find this a bit confusing. Is it about some imagined dystopian future? It sounds like the kind of thing that would accompany a movie in that vein.

"Beware the preacher who tells you how to Vote, and the politician who tells you how to pray." Anon I'd add, 'Beware the politician, or media talking head who tells you how 'he' prays. It long ago became a pattern and a practice to cloak oneself in religion so that if you disagreed with their politics they could accuse of disagreeing with religion. They found Billy Graham so useful in deceiving Christians they were looking for, and probably found, a Muslim Billy Graham. The Nazi Schutzstaffel (SS) came to wield Government authority in Germany in March, 1933, pretending to favor religion. Evangelical and Lutheran church hierarchies spoke well of the Nazis from the pulpit. The Catholic Center Party is said to have elected Hitler when he was given dictatorial powers. In short order they forbade the reading of the Old Testament. The German People became the first victims of Nazi insanity, wielding Government authority. Eugen Kogon told of Buchenwald 'extermination by labor' camp and 1,000 priests there in a book, "The Theory and Practice of Hell". Cardinal Eugenio Pacelli, who signed a Concordat with Hitler, cutting the Catholic State in for a 2% share of 'Confiscations', was elevated to Pope, Pope Pius XII, who never complained about 1,000 priests in Buchenwald, then or later. I suspect he took advantage of the opportunity to 'clean house' of Priests who weren't compliant enough with the Nazi-Catholic Concordat. 'Confiscation' was a pattern and practice of the Papal Inquisition, most infamous in Spain, but global in scope. IBM took the census in Germany in 1933, getting 60 million people to self-identify by religion, ethnicity, ancestry going back three generations, affiliation with trade unions, religions, political parties, work history. They ended up exterminating eleven million people, all those categories, plus Roma (gypsies), Freemasons, homosexuals, anyone who disagreed. "Send me your 'undesirables'," Hitler told those wielding Government authority in cities and states. IBM made sure the trains ran on time, and arrived to pick up the 'cargoes' in adequate numbers for 'evacuation', bringing only what they could carry. What they left behind was 'confiscated', companies, real estate, furnishings, clothes, bank accounts. Christians had to hide in the First Reich, the Holy Roman Empire. Then of course there's the more recent 'Some Guy' or 'Someguy' religion, where 'some guy' said the Earth is only 5,000 years old and Jesus hung out with dinosaurs, and everyone threw away their Bibles and started worshiping 'Some Guy'. No need to burn Bibles. People don't read them any way, and if they do, don't abide by their teachings, and are prone to get just enough 'religion' to tell themselves they're okay while they keep doing whatever the hell they want. Islam is notorious for 'Sharia Law', wherein any 'reader' can interpret the Koran to suit themselves, and Christians often do the same, finding 'justifications' for whatever result they want to accomplish, claiming God's blessing. Senator Jeff Sessions smirked as he cited a Biblical passage as justification for taking the children from immigrant families at the Mexican border. A friend just told of staying in a large hotel where a Religious Convention was being held and said the people would crowd onto the elevators, loud and drunk. "Are you a Christian?" people ask. "No," I tell them, "I've seen the Christians." Oneida was a Native American. Before the Spanish Catholics killed him they said, "This is your last chance. Don't you want to convert to Catholicism and go to heaven?" "No," Oneida said, "I might get to heaven and there wouldn't be anyone there but you Christians." They beheaded him and carried his head around a while. I'm not sure you can condense religion into a Song, and it be an accurate reflection of the facts. You can cherry-pick the facts, and 'write' the history you want to portray. But odds are you'll hit your target group, who already agree with you, and alienate all others. People 'fabricate' religious 'experience' and 'belief' in Songs, as opposed to 'authentic' religious experience and belief. John Newman was a slave-ship Captain. One night his ship's sails fell limp, becalmed out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, which settled smooth as glass, with a cargo of slaves chained below-decks, on shelves 18 inches apart, chained at the neck, the wrists and ankles. Up on deck, in the dark, beneath the stars, mirrored in the ocean calm, something came over John Newman. He turned his ship back to Africa, freed his 'cargo', and went home to England and wrote Songs. One of the Songs was "Amazing Grace".
There will always be another song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? www.garyeandrews.com

Gavin The BBC seem to specialise in confusing Sci Fi dramas so I thought I'd join in with this write, after watching one particular episode a good while ago.. It was end of the world stuff, survivors on the run from weird people with equally weird objectives John

It wasn't aimed as an attack on any particular religious group Gary. I'm an agnostic and to me any religion is what other people do, I'd rather not join in. A humanist certainly. My response to Gavin might sort out any confusion. Thanks John
