Hi All, I see plenty of rainbows here on Saipan. My muse finally decided I needed to write a song about them. Fresh ink!
What's Behind a Rainbow
Down at the beach today I saw a wonderful sight A double rainbow in the air Filled the western sky Why is it so special To fill my heart with song Don't you just love it too And want to sing along
What's behind a rainbow-------} Chorus I wonder do you know It must be so magical To cause that heavenly glow Don't try to explain it With scientific proofs I really like the mystery Maybe you do too
The Irish say a pot of gold Lies down at either end But don't go chasing rainbows You'll get lost my friend I like to stare in wonder Moments lost in time Is it all a part of Someone's great design
What's behind a rainbow-------} Chorus I wonder do you know It must be so magical To cause that heavenly glow Don't try to explain it With scientific proofs I really like the mystery Maybe you do too
It is a conundrum-----------------} Bridge Still it is meant to be So all can enjoy it Oh what a sight to see
Instrumental Break
What's behind a rainbow-------} Chorus I wonder do you know It must be so magical To cause that heavenly glow Don't try to explain it With scientific proofs I really like the mystery Maybe you do too
What's behind a rainbow I really don't need to know

Possibly the best song written about a rainbow since the classic song from The Wizard of Oz. I guess you won't have to see him for a dose of creativity.

Hi Brian, Thanks for the read, and all the kind words. I don't think I will ever see the kind of success created by that song. It would be wonderful to see a bit of it, and I have a few people working with me to achieve that now. This one is already on a co-writer's short list of to-do's. And yes, it is on my favorite writes list.

Nicely done John. I agree with Brian on one of the best rainbow songs. Wishing you and the co writer success and thanks to you for all your help with my songs. Good luck.

I hope one of mine eventually takes roots. I think that's all it will take, one foot in the door. But if it never happens, I will plug along because I enjoy doing it.

Nice lyric, the sort of song that would suit a film or musical. Well thought through and easy to visualise. Don't get many rainbows here, just dank gray skies Regards John e

I know what causes them but they still are beautiful.

Really good lyrics. Congrats on this one. Thanks Carroll. Like I said above, it's one of my favorite writes so far. You'll hear it to music sometime soon I think. My newest co-writer is building a catalogue then will start pitching them in the UK.

This is fantastic! I have to say this verse really touched me: The Irish say a pot of gold Lies down at either end But don't go chasing rainbows You'll get lost my friend I like to stare in wonder Moments lost in time Is it all a part of Someone's great design Totally visually captured in words exactly how i feel when i see a rainbow

It's how I feel too. I can just sit down on the beach and get lost for a while. God's wonders never cease to amaze me.

Coupla suggestions\minor tweaks for a really nice lyric... I Hi John, Thanks for the read the like, and the thoughtful suggestions. I used some of them above. For me, a lyric is never set in stone until it is pitched, and even then if an artist wants to change it, I have wiggle room.
