Folks, let's face it, there's more going on right now than meets the eye. If you don't understand the comment, you're sleepwalking. So the next sacrificial lamb is reaching "groups" of people directly with and through the "messages" of your music or art which large multi-national corporations, or the government's who protect them, might not like. If you value free speech or artistic freedom this is clear writing on the wall that they do not want, nor will they allow you, to use the public square in reality, face to face, nor via the defacto replacement of it online. Don't believe it? https://loudwire.com/facebook-rule-change-bands-livestream-show-delete-account/

I read it and it seems quite draconian! Found this. A spokesperson for Facebook has now confirmed to NME that, although new guidelines will come into effect across the site in October, the music guidelines have been in place for some time and will not affect artists using the site to livestream gigs or share their music. The conditions will continue to apply instead to Facebook users including music in videos and livestreams to which they do not own the copyright. I would think Facebook needs to change that statement to more accurately say what they mean to say (unless they want all the wiggle room in the world). I would think pointing to videos that are controlled by the copyright owners should still be OK, but one never knows.

This stuff is like a noose tightening a tiny bit by tiny bit. When someone YELLS, they back off. Sadly, people RARELY yell at any of this to back off. That's why I am yelling.

They want the 'Wiggle" room Kevin. They can fine-tune it to their perverted agenda. Which is control, control, control... Zuckerberg is the face of evil. Classical music, esprcially the Great ones like Beethoven, are being attacked. Even standard music theory. Using the white supremacy platform. John

They just started not allowing any groups they don't like, not totally liberal, to share anything on my timeline. I deleted my account. Anyone can still find me here: https://usa.life/

You guys need to order a jumbo pack of chill pills. You always have to be angry at someone or something. You see political machinations behind everything. Everyone is trying to control you. Everyone is out to get you. This has nothing to do with suppressing messages delivered by music. It appears to have everything to do with copyright.
John, Zuckerberg's "perverted agenda" is the most banal one of all - to make money. I totally agree this can lead Facebook and others to practices which are detrimental to society. In my view it already has done so. However, it is all about money, not control for its own sake.
John S, I can still get plenty of non-liberal groups on my timeline. Facebook is on a hiding to nothing. On the one hand they have people blaming them for not doing more to combat dangerous misinformation and lies. On the other hand there are the folks complaining that removing or flagging or not highlighting dangerous misinformation and lies reveals an anti-conservative agenda. Zuckerberg and co are in a tight spot. I'm not shedding a whole lot of tears for them, mind you. They can cry all the way to the bank. Joining a group like usa.life seems like a way to descend further into an echo chamber of real and imagined grievances, anger and intolerance, insulated from the marketplace of ideas and sheltered from the disinfecting sunlight of the real world. Besides, social media is a terrible place to get your news. It's a great place for staying in touch with friends in distant places and having a laugh.

I belonged to 3 different conservative groups, and no longer, as of 3 days ago, receive notifications about new postings there. i used my home page to filter out what I didn't want to see from the ones I did. Now that is no longer an option because F/B has decided I can't get the notifications anymore. Yes, this is censoring. They have bots now set to trigger words, read conservative talk, that delete them as soon as they are found. This is censoring. I use social media to stay in contact with friends too, also to see what is happening in certain areas. Since this is no longer an option, I have left F/B behind.

Facebook tracks you everywhere you go on the Internet. If I’m checking on tools at Home Depot, DVD’s at Walmart/Amazon, if I just search the web for oven coils, candles, clothes, etc., the next time I login to FB, ads for all these products show up. Facebook is a good place to keep in touch with old friends. That lures a lot of people in - like the hunter baiting their prey. John

Censoring is one of the main thing that dictators do to control the masses. Fear of reprisal is another. Banning and exclusion is another. We are just talking a site now but when it becomes the government line, watch out.
