Steve,
I just figured out who you remind me of--Dan Fogelberg. I enjoyed your song. I might have the drums a little less engaged in places letting them be more "vanilla" except for key accent areas. Now this is a very minor polishing sug and JMO. Well done!
steady-eddie I'll take that as long as I can be the Leader of the Band.... Steve, 2 thumbs up, good ol' country with a great message, I like the drums right where they are. kevin I love it...Yeah if ain't got a good message I probably ain't singin' it...Thanks Brotha'

Steve,
Well-penned and well-executed song. Traditional but still heartfelt and can resonate today. Really good production with a great vocal (love the harmony on the chorus) . . . so I can appreciate the artistry and effort that went into making it. Lots of folks are going to love this!
Best regards,
Deej

Great song, great performance, great production. Nothing not to like! I appreciate the words Gavin Old fashioned but still fits today's country music. Radio ready but you know they'd chop time off somewhere. You bring up 2 good points...Thanks for the listen & comments Carroll

Steve, If only we could all see Jesus in the faces of those we come in contact with; as Louis Armstrong would say "What a Wonderful World" we would have. Great effort and thanks for sharing, Skip Thanks Skip, Thanks for taking a minute to hear the work & commenting. Much appreciated

Steve-- I second what Dave posted!
I penned one some time ago: Jesus was a GUITAR MAN OF THE CLOTH!
It never got anywhere--I told Steven Curtis Chapman about it, but just smiled and said Well!
I like this song a lot, since I identify with the have nots!
Mackie I appreciate the input. Yeah I had an interesting encounter with Dallas Holm in the early 90's on one of my tunes, which would have been a great follow up to his iconic "Rise Again". Dude gladly accepted my cassette tape of the song backstage as we both performed at a venue. Waited with anticipation in the mail for a positive response. Got the cassette back in the mail with a letter from his agent as if it was unsolicited. I understand the liability now, but man that was very deflating...He's done nothing of note since that song...As you say "Oh well"... Real good song Steve. I knew it would be.
Question? What mic do you use? Thanks for the comments. I don't use the same mic for every song. But the 4 mics I've been using are Telefunken U47, Neumann U87, Neumann T49, & believe it or not a $400 Audio Technica 4040 (Great value) On this one I used a Neumann U87 with a Neve Pre-Amp

Good one Steve. A great write. I thoroughly enjoyed this! -Tom Hey Tom, I appreciate the comments Hi Steve Well done on the writing and performance - great vocals and the steel really glues things together nicely. I'm not a religious person so don't really get how you can see Jesus' face in others (and I won't mention the debate about what Jesus actually looks like) but it sounds like you've connected with those that do. cheers Paul Funny you say that, because this song got "ripped" on a Christian song FORUM because I didn't make it theologically correct. I mean they let me have it as if I had committed A MORTAL SIN. First off i wanted the song to be able to be played in Church or on Country radio. Second, God, the universe or whichever way you choose or want to say it, gave ME THE SONG (Or at least I tuned into it, & finished the thought) & not those who ripped my tuune for not being theologically sound. Third, I have plenty of theologically sound songs that Christians did not support financially... I didn't want to tell Christians to see Jesus in everything, though many need to be reminded. I really didn't want to tell non-Christians or those on the fence anything at all, other than sometimes what you see at surface value each day is much, much deeper... The Character in this song is unassuming & "never had a ton of faith", yet somehow at this point in life saw things a little differently. I really tried to "not preach" at all in this song. Hopefully I accomplished that
