Hi, all: I hope everyone is safe and well . . . Here's something new--a solo effort that I think is pretty much there (or as far as I can take it right now). Hope you enjoy, and as always thanks in advance for the listen and feedback. My best to all, Deej Here's the song:COMPLETEHere are the lyrics:I thought I saw you first from across the bar. You were standing by the window lit in neon like a star. And when you said “Hello,” I played it cool, but despite all my bravado I was the boy you saw right through. You know I just don’t understand it . . . Sometimes I think you always knew that you—you’re everything I want, the only thing I see. And with you forever in my heart I know I’ll always be complete. Have I been the love you’ve always dreamed? Have I given back to you everything you’ve given me? And if I’ve fallen short, just know this much . . . If I had a million lifetimes I could never give enough. You know I’ll never understand it, just how you love me like you do. And you—you’re everything I want, the only thing I see. And with you forever in my heart I know I’ll always be complete. You know I’ll never understand it; it don’t matter if I do . . . and you—you’re everything I want, the only thing I see. And with you forever in my heart I know I’ll always be complete. (c)2020 DJ Lekich

Hi Deej:
Rock Ballads are usually not that easy to "take to the charts"... but if we had a "Chart" here... this one would be at the top. Great lyric, great vocal and melody. I hope this one gets you "in the door" somewhere so others can discover you... as we have. Much talent, my friend.
All the best, ----Dave

I didn't have to actually listen to it in order to compliment the song. I knew that I would like it. I always do. And I did. Lovely song DJ.

Hi Deej. Nice jangly guitar sound and bass beat. Good simple story. Love the falsetto. I wish I could do that.

I think you should offer to sing this for a friend at their wedding. It's definitely a slow dance tune for those in love.

Hi DJ This is great. Has a nice build, good guitar, vocals and lyrics, super melody. Production is pretty damn good too - what's not to like? Well I guess it could be cut a bit in length but I wouldn't want to sacrifice one of those gorgeous guitar solos. That's all I got - good work (play!) Paul

summeoyo,
Thanks for giving this a listen. Ironically, my nephew is getting married this fall and someone has already suggested I should play this. Not going to happen, lol . . . but you may have something there.
My best to you,
Deej

Paul,
Thanks much for the kind feedback. Yeah, I know length may be a challenge here. But as you’d rightly note, I’d half to sacrifice the solos, or do away with the third chorus--and I really didn't want to do either. My hope was that the build would keep the listener engaged enough to stay with it to the end. I hope still.
Regards,
Deej

THE BEATLES & BEE GEES in one tune together...I wouldn't have anyone else try to do the track. Something will get lost in the translation..At first I thought the Bass was too loud but it gives that BEE GEES BASS from "I started a Joke" that is absolutely haunting. I wanted to hear this on vinyl...BUT IT ISN"T DATED
BTW....I'm playing air Guitar while you got your licks going on...
LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT

Steve and Tom,
Thanks so much for the spin and cool feedback. Steve, not the first time a song of mine has gotten a Bee Gees reference . . . never quite hear it myself, but it's a good thing. Irony is, I hated those guys back in the day, with the whole disco sound. Loved their early stuff. But nowadays, I just sit back in awe to hear them sing and play. Fantastically talented!
Thanks again, guys.
All my best,
Deej

This is solid. No bs lyric right to it.
I like the hook it reminds me of Bono in when the sky turns blue w/the cohrs
It's nothing to really pick at, it's just very genuine sounding.
The one production nit I have is there seems to be too much compression the guitar sounds kind of squashed and the overall space is filled by all that compression. I'm not listening on great speakers so it's subjective.
Solid song with some feeling

It would be great as a wedding song. Every aspect of it is very well done. The music is admirable, there is nothing awkward, nothing out of place. It all fits together and sounds ultra professional.

Hey Deej ...
Al David here (from the other site) ...
This is outstanding! I've heard quite a few of your vocals and this is my unquestioned favorite. everything in the mix is so nicely balanced. You've selected some great backing tracks. The lyric is superb. Loved these two lines in particular:
You were standing by the window lit in neon like a star.
Your falsetto is just so damn good ... man, this is a really sweet sound! Great stuff!. Best to you. Be safe!

DeeJay,
Really really good tune. Probably, the best I have heard from you. Love both the vocal and guitar. Superb when you go into your higher register. Very 80's rock ballad like, ... thinking along the lines of Time For Me To Fly by REO Speedwagon or the like. Very radio friendly. Excellent write and production.

Fdemetrio, Polly, Alan, Dave, and Lane:
Thanks for the listen and kind comments. It’s really appreciated. Love songs really aren’t a thing I do very well . . . but glad this one worked.
Gavin: Special shout-out to you. That might be the nicest and funniest compliment I’ve every received on one of my songs. You made my day!
My best to all of you—stay well!
