So just some background

I am married to a paediatrician and have several doctors in my direct and extended family. I also have a client who is one of the world's leading researchers into Kawasaki syndrome which has seen a spike in occurence..or at least a syndrome that presents like Kawasaki...that is worrying doctors because it mirrors the spike in corona virus. I speak to all of them regularly and believe them when they say something related to their fields.

This article does nothing more in the end than say that as the economy opens up, be careful of where you go and it tells you how you protect yourself

It has no axes to grind, no political agenda, and only the general welfare in mind...and is resigned to the fact that despite warnings to the contrary, the economy is going to be opened up more widely and sooner than experts say it should.

It's a 10 minute or so read, but you will be better armed to go "out there".

I promise it is worth the time

Thanks, John:

I hope all these research expenditures will eventually lead all of us out of the darkness. Facing an unseen enemy with untried and untested weaponry is disturbing to say the least. Then to discover another virus with Kawasaki similarities... appearing to "hang out" with the current Corona version is worrisome.

All the best,

----Dave

2 or 3 pandemics from now, the algorithms will have enough data from experience and reality to make reasonably accurate predictions about this stuff.
For now, I view everything written tentatively.

I do appreciate the information and will read it closely as soon as I get the chance.

I scanned the article. Appears to be very good information. Thank you for sharing.

The author is clearly identified...but it was referred to me by a family member who is an a hospital emergency physician....who asked us to pass it on as good information.

And David, the fear is that it is how the Corona virus is presenting in some kids. Currently there is only a correlation in the spike...most noticed in Italy btw. But researchers are taking note and working hard to understand the "Kawasaki like presentation" spike.

Very educational. Comprehension of the threat is strategic to defensive action.

I read the first sentence and I can tell the author why people are feeling relieved.

Media fraud (particularly left wing media) became so rampant that people no longer believe their fear-mongering.

The "experts" were all dead wrong. Fraud was readily apparent there, too. A leading "expert" in the UK warned of dire consequences if his country didn't lock down, then was caught sneaking around with his mistress. Not an isololated incident. It's basically another version of Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart.

State efforts to combat the virus are preposterous. Letting violent felons out of jail so they don't catch The Wuhan Virus, while arresting people in a park is idiocy, leading to a lack of credibility.

I'm going to do what I always did...live a hygenic life and hope for the best.

Chris Cuomo is a joke.

It has no axes to grind, no political agenda, and only the general welfare in mind

Can't say the same for you Couch. In this instance why turn what was meant to convey honest, practical information including best hygienic practices in closed spaces ...which should interest you as it helps you live that hygienic life you profess to want to live....into something it is not meant to do?

If you want to talk about your viewpoints, you are definitely entitled to do so at the other thread.

CNN, MSNBC, the major networks and many more weaponize anything available to attack Trump. And there is no doubt that has been done with the virus in any way possible. And the chicken-littles have been paraded one after the other announcing the nigh times and feeding on as much fear as they could create. All of that is too obvious to deny.

But the virus was real. And with everyone scared to death and locked away, it will still kill in excess of 100k people in the US. If this was 100 years ago before instant telecommunications, it would have penetrated the population much deeper before people snapped to it., I've no doubt that this virus would have killed in the millions back then..

There is nothing wrong with understanding the mechanics of how the virus transmits and where it proliferates with the greatest ease which was explained nicely in the article. The author had his own inflated projections which undermine him a little at this point but the information is still useful.

We once had a discussion about truly factual and neutral media outlets. You advocated for USA TODAY.
Look at this headline and then read down only through the 2nd paragraph and tell me why this is not another liberal outlet?

Martin, wrt USA today, not sure I advocated for it in particular, sure did not mean to..... but I definitely linked to websites that pointed to neutral outlets...and USA today was listed ...

Did follow the paragraphs as indicated...not sure see what you see...perhaps the news about Cohen???

But let's not divert from this blog which simply tries to impart some sound advice about going out in this day and age.

Apologies John,

I accidentally posted this here. I meant to put it in that long thread with 16 or so pages.
You got the gist of it. No need to belabor it.
And I do appreciate the information that you have put up here.
Consider this dropped.

here is Bromage on CNN reiterating what John posted.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqqPY8N2d-8

Note to self:
Be wary of Interior spaces where there is no sunshine and little air movement...and the more people, the more they are talking, the louder that they are talking...the greater the risk of particles in the air.

Thanks again John V

Thank you for the good advice John. To visualize what the patterns of virus breath clouds might take, just remember back when smokers could smoke anywhere anytime. the smoke was hard to stays away from.

Great analogy Moosesong...probably not entirely comparable as smoke is fine particles that travel while virus is in aerosol...moisture laden heavier air...but great for illustration

So thanks for that
