Thought I'd post something with a happy tune even though the lyric isn't entirely positive, Also one of my favourites Lo I I've got the moon David Lekich and John Vaughan https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13851889(V) Thump my pillow, start tossing and turning— the night’s are kinda long when your mind keeps churning. So I get on up and with my PJs on I open the curtain and I gaze upon that glowing face in the summer sky, a midnight buddy for a lonely guy. (C) Well, he’s hanging in the sky like a big balloon and his arms are reaching for me in my troubled room, and I find myself a-hummin’ a familiar tune, so my worries in the end are put to ease by my silver friend. And she may not be coming back anytime soon, but that’s alright because tonight I’ve got the moon. (V) All the good times that we shared together— I wasn’t quite aware that it wouldn’t last forever. I keep getting hung up on the things she did, but Mr. Moon reminds me that’s no way to live. He tells a joke about a mastodon, and keeps me laughing all night long. (C) Well, he’s hanging in the sky like a big balloon and his arms are reaching for me in my troubled room. I start thinking about a cow and dish and spoon, so my worries in the end are put to ease by my silver friend. And she may not be coming back anytime soon, but that’s alright because tonight I’ve got the moon. (V) All it takes to stop a heart from achin’ is a willing ear and a little conversation. (C) And, he’s hanging in the sky like a big balloon and his arms are reaching for me in my troubled room, and I find myself a-hummin’ a familiar tune, so my worries in the end are put to ease by my silver friend. And she may not be coming back anytime soon, but that’s alright because tonight I’ve got the moon. Me and Mr. Moon are going to shine, shine shine. Me and Mr. Moon are going to shine, shine, shine. (c)2019 DJ Lekich/John Vaughan

I like the happy bounce arrangement but I must confess I am not a fan of the uke.
I like the lyric too apart from (at the risk of repeating my usual moan) there seems too much of it and sounds rushed in places.
The transition to the bridge could be better. Maybe a different chord to slide in there. Also the intro could be more interesting or shorter or both. Apart from that it's a good one. My opinion of course. It may not be everyone's.

I love it. I didn't think I would at first because the idea of the moon as a friend seemed kind of corny, but I was quickly won over. It bounced its way into my brain and my heart.
I get what Vic is saying about "too much" of the lyric, but I actually like that. I take pleasure in hearing someone deliver a lyric like this while making it seem easy, smooth and natural, especially running one line into the next the way Deej does here, including into the chorus. This is such an engaging vocal performance. A delight.
You'll probably want to get rid of that background noise right at the beginning.

I loved it. The Uke, for me, was the perfect instrument to bring this addictive melody to life. Very catchy, very hooky. There were times, I too felt it seemed rushed, maybe a bit wordy, but still just a very fun melody. Good work guys.

Travis,
That’s a good one to dust off—nice to hear something light and quirky in otherwise heavy times. Thanks for posting it.
Vic, the uke is just what I had in my head putting it together—the sound I was shooting for—again, I wanted old time quirky. I get it might not resonate for everyone. I’d have to think if I could spice up the intro. Appreciate all the suggestions.
Gavin, the background noise at the intro was my perhaps not so well executed idea to have this sound old-time with a scratchy record effect. Doesn’t quick work as well as I was hoping, but there it is. Glad you liked this one.
Dave, thanks for the listen and feedback. Always welcome and always appreciated.
My best to all of you,
Stay safe—
Deej

Nice one! I enjoy this it had been awhile since I haven't heard a song in this style so this sounded fresh in my ears. Like the chords you used and the vocals is what kelp my interest along with the melody very catchy. Good song, Travis.

Hi Vic To be honest the UKE idea came out of the blue. Dave sent me a work copy which was a complete surprise and I loved it. I thought the intro worked well but it's good get other views. Nothing is set in stone and your points can be addressed Cheers Johb

Hi Travis and Deej:
Sorry I'm late... but I enjoyed my listen. The "Uke" worked but I wonder if an old "Upright Piano" with "plinky keys" might have done just as well? Great collaboration... and yes, it is a bit long... but because of the "happy vibe"... it works well. Glad to see two "talents" spending time on something productive.
Thanks for sharing... and, as always... best of luck with it.
----Dave
