I redid the song, reducing the length to 2.45 and hopefully making it better. I also redid the animated video to suit, and changed the title.

I hope that you like it.

God Bless to all

new lyrics.

Dedicated People & Unsung Heroes

verse 1
Looking from a window, the streets so bare
People stay at home, feeling safer there .
Fathers, mothers, children, and old folks too
Alone or together, wanting to get through

verse 2
Doctors, nurses, carer's, they seem so few
Fighting an enemy, hidden and brand new.
Retired volunteers, overcome their fears.
Firemen, police, essential store cashier's

chorus
Dedicated people, their courage shining through
With all our hearts we send, a massive big thank you

verse3
Good neighbours may talk, to those on their own,
Many have no family, frightened and alone
Some will need food, a prescription urgently
Looking after them, they do instinctively

chorus
Dedicated people, their courage shining through
With all our hearts we send, a massive big thank you

Bridge
For all of those, behind the scenes.
Whose good deeds go unsung.
I wish that I could name you all
'Your' hero's everyone...

chorus
Dedicated people, their courage shining through
With all our hearts we send, a massive big thank you

'A Massive Big Thank You'

Thank You'

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Following my post about corona on the general topics board, and still being in isolation, and after watching the same film 30 times, I wanted to thank those who
are not safe at home. As I am in London, I guess the lyrics come from my thoughts and observations.

Thanks to Vic and John for their suggestions.

This is my third re-write

-The Dedicated Few -

verse 1
Looking from a window, the streets so bare
People stay at home, feeling safer there
Fathers, mothers, children, old folk too
Alone or together, wanting to get through

verse 2
Doctors, nurses, carer's, seem so few
Fighting an enemy, hidden and brand new
Retired volunteers, overcome their fears
Firemen, police, essential store cashier's

chorus
Dedicated people, their courage shining through
With all our hearts we send, a massive big thank you,

verse3
Good neighbors may talk to those on their own
Many have no family, frightened and alone
Some will need food, a prescription urgently
Looking after them, they do instinctively

chorus
Dedicated people, their courage shining through
With all our hearts we send, a massive big thank you,

verse 4
There are many more, hidden from sight
Cleaning, delivering, often late at night
Postal workers, and those who remove our waste
Out there every day, not knowing what they face

chorus
Dedicated people, their courage shining through
With all our hearts we send, a massive big thank you,

Bridge
For all of those behind the scenes
Whose good deeds go unsung
I wish that I could name you all
'Your' hero's everyone...

chorus
Dedicated people, their courage shining through
With all our hearts we send, a massive big thank you,

chorus repeat
Dedicated people, their courage shining through
With all our hearts we send, a massive big thank you,

Just reading the lyrics I can see that song as being fairly up-tempo. Good lyrics.

Hi Roy.
The trouble with these songs is you always leave some group out.
What about cleaners, waste disposal personnel, delivery drivers and postmen/women etc?
Almost everyone is essential for one reason or another in these times.
Maybe you could say that in the lyric with less emphasis on particular groups.

Vic

It's never too late? Yes it is, so do it now.

If, given time, a monkey can write the complete works of Shakespeare maybe there's hope for me.

I agree Vic, which is why I wrote

Dedicated workers, your better than a priceless jewel
To you I say with all my heart, 'A Massive Big Thank You'

which I hoped would bring others to the theme.

but I will look at adding a bridge to include more...working on it now.

keep safe

God Bless Roy

Hi Roy, nice sentiment, for me you list (workers) in the verses so I'd change

Dedicated workers, your better than a priceless jewel
To you I say with all my heart, 'A Massive Big Thank You'

maybe consider

Dedicated people,so brave your courage shines through
with all my heart I send,A massive big thank you,
or
my sincerest thank you.

if it don't work, no prob
all the best,john

Thanks to Vic and John for their suggestions.

-The Dedicated Few -

verse 1
Looking from a window, at the streets so bare
So many are at home, feeling safer there
Fathers, mothers, children, and the old folk too
Helping out each other, with whatever they can do

verse 2
Doctors, nurses, carer's, they seem so few
Fighting with an enemy, hidden and brand new
Retired volunteers, who overcome their fears
Firemen, police, essential store cashier's

chorus
Dedicated people, so brave their courage shining through
With all my heart I send, a massive big thank you,

verse3
social workers call on those who are alone,
Often with no family, no neighbor, or no phone
Do they need some food, or a prescription sorted out
Looking after others, is what they are about

chorus
Dedicated people, so brave their courage shining through
With all my heart I send, a massive big thank you,

verse 4
There are also many more, doing what is right
Cleaning, and delivering, sometimes late at night
Postal workers, and those who remove our waste
Out there every day, not knowing what they face

chorus
Dedicated people, so brave their courage shining through
With all my heart I send, a massive big thank you,

Bridge
For all of those behind the scenes
Whose good deeds go unsung
I wish that I could name you all
'Your' hero's everyone...

chorus
Dedicated people, so brave their courage shining through
With all my heart I send, a massive big thank you,

chorus repeat
Dedicated people, so brave their courage shining through
With all my heart I send, a massive big thank you,

'A Massive Big Thank You'

Hi Roy,

I am glad to see you are feeling better and writing again. I like the theme of your lyrics which fit with the situation we are all dealing with.

I have a few suggestions I will PM you tonight as I am working in a lockdown situation at my office and communication is difficult.

You are certainly filling it out Roy. Seems very wordy.
Personally, I wouldn't mention the job descriptions.
I'd go with something like "Who cleans up all the mess? Who tends our wounds? Who feeds us? The people we rely on. You know who you are. We know who you are" sort of lines.

Good luck with it.

Vic

Thanks Vic for having another read.

Your right in that too many words, so I have made the chorus just 2 lines. before it was 6 lines..using what is now the 3d verse in every chorus. that's 16 lines removed overall.

chorus
Dedicated people, so brave their courage shining through
With all my heart I send, a massive big thank you,

I will leave the job descriptions in Vic to make it more personal and then for those not described, I added the bridge...with chorus

Bridge
For all of those behind the scenes
Whose good deeds go unsung
I wish that I could name you all
My hero's everyone...

chorus
Dedicated people, so brave their courage shining through
With all my heart I send, a massive big thank you,

Thanks though for your help as the lyrics have evolved.

I think that's it now and because time is important, I'm working on getting it put to music now and a video.

thanks again

God Bless

Roy

Looking good Roy, here's a couple of suggestions,

There are also many more, doing what is right
There are also many more, hidden from our sight

Do they need some food, or a prescription sorted out
Looking after others, is what they are about

you have two they in this section, the needy and the helpers, I'd try and split it like

If someone needs food, or a prescription urgently.......or their medicine urgently
Looking after others, they do instinctively.

keep or sweep
all the best,john

With all our hearts we send, a massive big thank you,

verse 4
There are many more, hidden from sight
Cleaning, delivering, often late at night
Postal workers, and those who remove our waste
Out there every day, not knowing what they face

chorus
Dedicated people, their courage shining through
With all our hearts we send, a massive big thank you,

Bridge
For all of those behind the scenes
Whose good deeds go unsung
I wish that I could name you all
'Your' hero's everyone...

chorus
Dedicated people, their courage shining through
With all our hearts we send, a massive big thank you,

chorus repeat
Dedicated people, their courage shining through
With all our hearts we send, a massive big thank you,

'A Massive Big Thank You'

I redid the song, reducing the length to 2.45 and hopefully making it better. I also redid the animated video to suit, and changed the title.

I hope that you like it.

God Bless to all

new lyrics.

Dedicated People & Unsung Heroes

verse 1
Looking from a window, the streets so bare
People stay at home, feeling safer there .
Fathers, mothers, children, and old folks too
Alone or together, wanting to get through

verse 2
Doctors, nurses, carer's, they seem so few
Fighting an enemy, hidden and brand new.
Retired volunteers, overcome their fears.
Firemen, police, essential store cashier's

chorus
Dedicated people, their courage shining through
With all our hearts we send, a massive big thank you

verse3
Good neighbours may talk, to those on their own,
Many have no family, frightened and alone
Some will need food, a prescription urgently
Looking after them, they do instinctively

chorus
Dedicated people, their courage shining through
With all our hearts we send, a massive big thank you

Bridge
For all of those, behind the scenes.
Whose good deeds go unsung.
I wish that I could name you all
'Your' hero's everyone...

chorus
Dedicated people, their courage shining through
With all our hearts we send, a massive big thank you

'A Massive Big Thank You'

Thank You'
