Hi all..I still have a radio show that I get on once a week that is based out of Scotland...well i've taken off a few months till i'm back on my feet better..but I wanted to write a song to go along with my radio show..my show is called. HEARTS OF COUNTRY RADIO. The link to the station is supersoundscotland.net. or supersoundscotland.com
So if anyone would like to help me out here and do a co-write with me I'd really appreciate it so much....you can see why it's so important to me..thanks so much and I love you all so very very much...glyn
HEARTS OF COUNTRY
Pain and hearts suffering Can be heard and felt Of these country singers From a life they were dealt
Verse 2 Life of days gone by Never to return Number one hit songs Painful lessons learned
Chorus x1
Listen to the hearts of country Words genuine and real Cuts to the bone like a knife Souls singing words that kill Been there done that over time Hard times and bittersweet Memories behind the eyes Of men, women and a child Happy times sad times Raging free and wild
Verse 3 Echos through the mountain tops To the rivers strong and true Hearts and souls that never mend Real feelings of blue
Verse 4 Stories lived from a life Written from the heart Deep down inside true pain Loves and lives torn apart
Chorus again x1
Bridge Great singers from across the land Pouring out their stories Trying to make a stand So their hearts can be heard
Chorus x1
Tag Not just words but life's journey Real true and so blue
Yeah...listen to the hearts of country
Listen to the hearts of country

Verse III seems a strong opener.
"HEARTS OF COUNTRY" songsbyglyn copyright 2-1-2019
Verse I (Their songs) echo through the mountain tops to the rivers strong and true, hearts and souls that never mend; The real feel of country blues! stories lived in country life, written from a country heart, tellin' tales of true life's pain, with a storyteller's art!
Chorus
Listen to the Hearts-- Of Country gen-u-ine-- and real! They've been there! They've done that, Soul-singing what they feel! Hard ti--mes and bittersweet, longi--ng for what used to be! They sing-- so YOU can see! Listen to the Hearts-- Of Country!
Verse II You can hear their pain and suffering! Their sorrow can be felt! They found a way to sing about, the life they've been dealt, of days gone by, things they tried, and a point of no return, leaking out a country song, of painful lessons learned!
Bridge They sing songs from country land, telling stories more than words! They'll help you understand, So YOUR heart can be heard!
Tag (Spoken) Not just words but life's journey Real, true, and so blue.
Yeah..Now, let's Listen... to the Hearts Of Country! (Sung) Listen to the Hearts-- Of Country! (Repeat, fade)

There will always be another song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? www.garyeandrews.com

Hi Glynda. That's amazing - the radio station seems to be based about 7 miles from where I grew up in Ayrshire as the seagull flies. (in as much as internet radio is "based" anywhere). I'll have to give it a listen. When is your show on?

Seems to me that this lyric would be best served midtempo as opposed to uptempo. As to whether to go with the original or the proposed rewrite really is a difficult call for me. The crux of many of the most heart-tugging country songs deal with seeing a person or a situation through rose-colored glasses. RCG was also the title of a huge country hit by John Conlee many moons ago as well. Peace.
