https://soundcloud.com/artwhimsically-yours/i-am-a-guitarist-by-ingvar-tautra-matthew-f-blowers-iii I am a guitarist A musical artist as I sit and I harvest the sharpest of tunes Pressing strings forms the hardest calluses on my fingers but they allow me to linger hours over my task as my right-hand attacks what is my latest track till each digit grows stiff plucking beautiful riffs it’s a God-Given gift creating songs from what-ifs my guitar has known many tunes left undone when my strumming goes slumming and my mind has succumbed to the sad realization there’s more work to be done but this guitar has wooed many loves I have Cherished tugging the strings of their hearts till our loneliness perished And it sometimes helps pay bills that pile up each day when a gig comes my way and they pay me to play I am a guitarist and the charts are my targets But this business is heartless it’s a cold-blooded market that’s left many a carcass of dreamers to rot taking all that they’ve got listing them as have-nots but it’s why I exist my bridge clamped in one fist as my fingers persist seeking out what I’ve missed till each note brings me bliss and each chord set adrift brings a most perfect mix that leaves listeners transfixed with the sounds, they have missed I am just a guitarist working hard at my craft playing what my muse drafts hoping I can extract music that will attract fans that I will amass till I grow old and daft. It is all that I ask it is my chosen task So if I strike a chord in the depths of your heart as a listener to my work let me know, play your part send me comments, critique me show me someone’s out there whose enjoying my music let me know that you care for one humble guitarist who has chosen to share all that his soul holds precious to all folks everywhere. to all folks everywhere.
