Hi everyone glen here..as most of you know I've had a lot of health issues in the past..but actually I'm so so much better..still have a few issues but I'm healthier than I've been in many years..it's taken me a lot of Doctor visits and surgeries to be where I am now...two weeks ago my son in law Cody ( my daughter Sherris husband) and my 23 year old grandson moved me back to Princeton Tx so I'll be closer to my doctors..while moving me my couch was broken. Didn't think it was that bad..the springs underneath were broken. Still didn't look bad...I always..always sit on the right side of it..but one day last week I sat on the left side...well it gave way with me and my butt was on the floor and my feet were above my head...and I was wedged tightly in it...I couldn't get out...actually it's kind of funny now..my cell phone was close enough that I finally got ahold of it and had to call my son in law to come get me out..didn't know I could fold up like that..It was like being a human taco....I kept hurting though on my right side..so finally my neighbor took me to the Emergency care clinic...and yes I have 2 broken ribs..of course all they can do for broken ribs is give you pain meds and rest..of course my heating pad has become my best friend...can't you picture me all rolled up like a taco...I guess though that I was in that position for about an hour and a half till my son in law got here. Any way I'm working on a few lyrics and hope to be back in full swing here..I love writing but what I love more is writing and having co-writers...I have many songs with songwriters on here and have some grear collabs out of it..but I would honestly love to have a song with as many folks on here..that's how much I love writing with all of you...my mind isn't thinking as it once was..had many mini strokes, and still have TIA's...so at times it's hard getting the darn thing to think and at times I have trouble just thinking of words...if anyone of you see my lyrics and read them please comment and let me have it on what you think It won't hurt my feelings..plus this writing is the best therapy for me to keep my mind going...most of you newer folks don't know me...I've not been on like I want to be..but hopefully you'll get to know me..to tell you all the truth..when I was first directed here to Just Plain Folks by a music supervisor friend...That was the best day of my life....the ones of you that do know me and remember me know I'm a very sweet and friendly lady and I appreciate every thing big or small that anyone does for me.....so please don't be afraid to offend me....cause what ever I do I want it to be the best I can do....thats the best sometimes to get your best what ever you do is to get that criticism good or bad to help me anyway see that I can do better....so I want to thank you all ...to the ones that already know me to the new friends I make. I love it here so much. And love all the folks here..but I also want to thank Brain cause if not for him doing what he does and all his hard work in helping so many I wouldn't have the great songs I have already and for sure not have so many of you already my friends..so, Brain sir I thank you for all you've done for me and for everyone....hope to be here more...after these ribs heal and hope to visit my old friends and really look forward to meeting many many more new friends. Thank you all so very very much....with all my love...
glen (glyn)
Oh before I spelled my name Glynda and went by Glenda cause I've had so many hackers etc stealing my work etc..and my songs I go by...songsbyglyn...cause glen sounds like ca guys name...and when I got my medical license they misspelled my name using a y instead of an e...so liked that spelling so I went with it..sorry for the confusion.. And on facebook I go by my maiden name...Glenda Sweeney Again thank you all so much
glen
Oh and anyone tell me what the blue box is beside some of the post...tks

Welcome back Glynda (Glenda). Glad your couch didn't eat you, sounds like it tried. LOL Sorry to hear you had a lot of health issues but glad you are feeling better these days. As we get old our bodies begin to break down but our spirit wants to do what we did when we were young. A lot of missing people from here these days, don't know if they have passed on or just on from coming here. Anyway, welcome back.

Hello Glyn, soooo good to hear from you!
Sounds like you decided to relive an episode of the I LOVE LUCY SHOW. And you've figured out that those "funny innocent" senarios like getting caught in a couch, can actually be quite painful and possibly cause some damage. Glad you got out of it reasonably unscathed. Hope you feel better soon. I am really glad to hear from you and all the people on this site because lately it seems a lot of people I went to school with, have met and known over my life, relatives, are either dropping like flies, or are going through a lot of health issues.
Really came home to me yesterday as I had my first "REAL FULL PHYSICAL" in 7 years. Had some weird insurance issues, which caused some problems over the past few years, but have been straightened out now. So yesterday I got to go through the WHOLE thing and was really expecting the Dr. and staff to come back in and say, "well Marc, you know that you've been amazlingly heathy your whole life? Well that STOPS NOW cause it's ALL CAUGHT UP WITH YOU!!! You've got two days to live!!!!"
But fortunately, Thank God, I have a CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH!! Can't believe it. Oh well, so far so good.
So it's great to hear some good news, particuarly from someone who we haven't heard from in a while. Besides Brian's own issues, there have been a few that have passed away, and we all find our rolls decreasing as it goes. Really glad that you are well and writing. I think it is a great idea to get some responses from the people here and maybe get a few songs. I'll try to get in on that if you'd like. Recently I came across some of our private correspondence and I was wondering if you have had any success finding some artists as well. Would be good to hear about that.
I am really glad to hear you're doing well, albeit a little sore at the time. Recently, I've had my own little sillyness as well. The night before Thanksgiving, Was walking two dogs in the rain and slipped on some extrodinarily wet and slippery concrete. Yep, BOTH FEET SWING UP IN THE AIR AND I DID A HUGE FALL RIGHT ON MY BACK AND SHOULDER! HELLOOOOOOOO LUCY!!!!! YOUI'VE GOT SOME SPRAININ' TO DOOOOOOOO!!!!" So with me doing the 'Dick VAn Dyke Pratfalls' and you doing the 'Lucy Couch Taco' routine, I guess we all have some weird tells to tell. I guess we can be thankful for one thing. That someone didn't have a camera phone so we could see ourselves doing it over and over on FACEBOOK TWITTER AND YOU TUBE!!! I mean we've always wanted to be known for what we do, but somethings I'm sure glad we are the only ones who see what we do.
Welcome back. Feel better. You've got a lot of silly things to get known for over the years.

Hi Marc Yes I've been feeling better than I've felt in years..had a little set back in Sept..on the 1st had another little mini stroke and had yo be flown 80 miles to a bigger city by helicopter..cost $61,000
Mrdicare paid part leaving me $33,000...had to pay 1,500 and they wrote the rest off..then on Sept 18th had a GI bleed needing surgery to fix and burn 3 bleeding ulcers and had to have a blood transfusion with 3 units of blood..I still hurt fot 2 more months and had to call the ambulance 4 times before I got better..one ride was over 2 hrs where they brought me back to the town I was living in to a nursing home..had to stay there 2 months. My son in law and 23 year old grandson moved me back closer to my doctors here in Princeton T.v...but yes I'm feeling so much better. Till I decided to do this trick with the couch...yes I'm Lucy the 2nd and doing quite well filling her shoes..lol. And I'm so very very happy to be back home here in Princeton and back home here on JPFs...thank you so much for being here for me..my writting isn't so great .having a hard time thinking of words that I want to use .just can't think of words..I know them but can't get it in my head what the word is..but I'm doing so much better and improving more and more everyday..and I've had so many friend's, school friends etc. that have passed. So actually I'm very blessed to still be here..don't know if it's my meanness that keeps me going or what..but yes I'm so happy and blessec to still be here...love you Marc...you're one of the very best...tks always

Glyn:
So glad you had that cell phone nearby. Life is short and you must take every precaution. JPF would not be the same without you. Health is difficult to maintain for some of us... but the alternative (not following the Doc's orders... or being careless or forgetful about medications) is much worse.
Thanks for sharing your story. Keep on writing. It's good for you.
All the best, ----Dave

Hi Glynda...from the title of your post, I thought it was an Ed Wood-type situation. Glad your back.

Always enjoyed communicating with you. For the most part I have been fortunate to have not had a lot of serious health issues but in late January and early February I was so sick, most likely from both respiratory and stomach flu that I thought I was knocking on death's door. When symptoms didn't let up for over a week I finally decided it was time to go to one of Walgreen's clinics and get it checked. I got two antibiotic prescriptions and, while it took time things finally got better. I have delivered flowers every Valentine's Day for the past several years and that was about the first day I really felt human again. During the worst of it I had trouble holding down even water, let alone any food.
I moved about a year ago and enjoy my walks to the public library and back. And since it is now about a 14 block walk I don't do it in cold, rough weather. Now as we are moving toward warmer weather and longer days I am back at it on most days and have begun to post more of my own lyrics here. If you haven't already done so I would recommend listening to my latest MP3 demo here, titled "Take the Pictures Down". Peace.
