I think I missed a post here.
Kev, it's not an impeachable offense to withhold aid to a foreign nation. There's no such thing in the Constitution. If there was, you'd cite it verbatim, along with Trump's phone call.
You can't.
Furthermore, the aid was given.
It's not a crime to investigate a criminal, political opponent or not. If it is, cite the statute verbatim along with Trump's transcript.
You can't.
The wholly Democratic Impeachment committee did give "abuse of power " as a reason. The term is vague and hard to define, which is why they settled on it. They've got nothing.
These same people claimed for over two years that Trump colluded with Russia to influence the 2016 election. There was no predicating crime there, either. They have zero credibility. They're just sore losers.
Then there's Kavanaugh. Again, the exact same people leveled unsubstantiated accusations against him. They have a history of being complete liars.
Finally, if you believe Trump committed an impeachable offense, please quote the transcript verbatim, along with a citation of the statute he violated.
You can't. No one can. The entire case is as simple as that. No Republican thinks its a crime, no Democrat thinks it's NOT. You dont see anything wrong with what he did, it was a "perfect" phone call. There are experts on both sides, people who are generally supposed to know more than you and I, who dont agree on whether or not he did anything wrong. So how can we claim it? The bottom line is if you like Trump, you dont care what he does. I In all honesty, I DONT KNOW if he did anything wrong on the call. It's a terrible place we're in right now. Nobody trusts media of any kind. I wish I had that kind of teflon protection, just say "fake news" anytime somebody questions me. I look at Fox news or CNN, and I dont believe any of them. It's a sad thing when we cant even know what the truth is about a phone call made. Im no legal expert, and I hear people making jokes and people talking about it, and i have no clue and seemingly none of our top law people are in agreement either.

If the Democrats could prove anything Trump did was a crime he would already be impeached. What a wholly different story than what they do/did with their own criminals.

Hi gang.
I haven't read past the second page but I remind everyone to argue politics and offer facts not personal attacks on individuals. I have had no complaints which is good so at this time I will let this run.
Please, however, do not fill the board up with a dozen different rant posts. One is enough.
Carry on.
P.S. If personal attacks happen and are gratuitous like Right Wing Nazi or Left Wing Libtard hurled around AFTER this post, I'll have to shut it down and if you get super nasty (on any side) you may get a time out, something I've never used. However if the mud is slinging on both sides I am not getting in between it. You are all grown ups and have acted as such (mostly). Please continue.

I've been busy, Kev. Cut and paste the post where you quote Trump's transcript, then the statute. I'll check back...

You cant prove anything when a partisan crew is not willing to be disproved. He has already been impeached, the only question is if he will be ousted. Doubtful as it would take too many republicans to publicly vote him out. If they could do it secretly, he'd likely be gone cause most people cant stand him. But you vote against, and he stays in office, now he's lookin at you as an enemy. The chance of him being removed is currently set at a 9% chance. https://odds.watch/trumpIt all depends which story you WANT to believe, not which story you believe.

The way I understand it, and I misspoke before, is that he is "Impeached" now, which is equal to a charge before he is proven guilty. I don't ever see that happening unless they can come up with a whole lot more than they have so far. I won't wish them luck. A lot of other presidents have done a lot worse things and not been ousted.

LOLLLLL you guys crack me up. it had to come back to this thread didnt it? It wasnt going to end all warm and fuzzy and a pat on the back to Brian....
Hey I will say this, I could have told anybody before the word impeach even was said, that it would not result in him being ousted, and that it was a waste of money and time, simply because of the partisanism.
You first have to figure out why EVERY Republican thinks he's innocent, and EVERY Dem thinks he isnt. THAT'S the problem. Not the facts. Even with dead on facts, we could see a video of somebody shooting somebody, and somebody can still find a way to not believe it, or not find reason to find the person guilty, or even somebody saying its not that person on the video.
The only person who really knows what his intents and motives were are himself, and he has the right to not incriminate himself.
Doesnt it seem strange that those who say yes are Dems those that say no are Republicans? Doesnt that phase you at all? I can tell if somebody is replublican or democrat, without ever meeting them before, based on whether or not they think Trump did something wrong.
I dont know if this Michael Bolton.... or Bolton guy could change this around or not. Maybe.
But for the most part, I dont think anybody really believed he was going out.

"And once we end up on a new site, we will still need to do some work because our current website sucks and is non functioning, so I need to do something about it. I am SOOOO sad we have to do this." "SOOOO sad" is so INADEQUATE. Does closing the site really boil down to just money Brian?
