Cmon buddy just answer me
I know what you've been through
the world's in need a brand new hero
my money's still on you
Spend a little of that no quit
saved up since we were kids

Breakin records and breakin hearts
precious seconds and second starts
makin messes and makin art
you've got alot of life to live

Somewhere on this adventure
the GPS got lost
the prophets lied about too little profit
you didnt make back cost
but there's no tell in your poker face
it's time for a bid

Breakin records and breakin hearts
precious seconds and second starts
makin messes and makin art
you've got alot of life to live

One word could mean everything
like the moon in the dark
aint no doubt in my dubious mind
you'll hit one out of the park
all I ask is to hear from you
we'll get this whole thing fixed

Breakin records and breakin hearts
precious seconds and second starts
makin messes and makin art
you've got alot of life to live

Not to mention inventin things
good intentions and wedding rings
comprehension of everything
you've got alot of life to live

Nice one FD. Reminds me of Tom Petty.

It's never too late? Yes it is, so do it now.

If, given time, a monkey can write the complete works of Shakespeare maybe there's hope for me.

FD,

I get a Springsteen vibe for sure. I dig this song and melody. Love the piano track, distinctive vox too, and cool lyrics as well. What a great line "breaking records and breaking hearts" -- a great lyric phrase. No nits from me today!

Yeah, FD:

What Eddie said! I did not understand your comment, "BTW, this guy didn't make it..."! Were you referring to the singer of the song (presumably you?)... or the character "hero" in the lyric? Forgive me if I read to much into that statement... but I always want to understand a writer's comments in introducing a song.

I thought this was very good... and like you, always desire the best "backing" I can get in cutting a song... but you don't need to offer regrets or apologies for this one.

I get it!
I look back at all the people I’ve written and jammed with over the years and wonder all the time... "Why am I still doing this?" "Is there really a chance for someone who just refuses to quit?"
Depends upon your definition of success I suppose... Or perhaps mistaking "Nothing better to do" for "refuse to quit" Lol...

Good one FD smile

Thanks for all the support guys/.

This is a mixed Biography.. We had a guy in town who fell on some hard times, and he went missing for a few weeks before he was found dead, suicide.

I remember reading comments from friends and so I decided to personalize and make it me (first person) writing to the missing person.

I had finished the song before he was found dead.

So its basicly encouraging somebody to not give up and try to find a reason to live.

Fdemetrio,

Of the three tunes you’ve posted, I like this one the best. The Springsteen vibe, at least for me, is apparent, yet very fresh. Kind of has a Boomtown Rats feel as well—the piano sound at least. Agree with Eddie that the “breaking records and breaking hearts” is just a sweet, sweet, hook. Really like that last stanza. There are a couple lines that don’t seem to hit home for me, but that’s a subjective thing, and as it stands . . . very nice, very catchy tune. Well done!

Kind regards,

Deej

I like this. Has a great feel to it, and the Springsteen vibe is certainly there, both musically and lyrically. It has heart.

The chorus felt a bit like a pre-chorus to me. My ear expected it to lead to a chorus with a little more musical intensity.

Thanks Gavin. Somebody else mentioned that before about it not sounding chorusey. I think because the structure is really based on AAA but Im kind of forcing it into an ABAB.

I think this would be more a B side than "the hit", if I actually record this.

Thanks for listening.
