https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13962104I wrote this with a UK folk singer called Phil Simpson. There's been other versions of the song in the past including one from Neil Cotton and Vic This one by Mike is nearer to Phil's initial demo. Although sung in a typical English folk style it has Mike's unique touches throughout. My Oh My, Travis what a beautifully written song. Quite the tasty sentiment... quite bitter... yet tasty... indeed.
Mike I do love the texture of the production here. You have a way of adding all those tasty little morsel throughout the arrangement, with everything working perfectly together and nothing feels forced.
Candy to the ear.

Hi John, Well done to all. Definitely in the folk song fold. I've been lucky enough to hear some of the best in SoCal in the late 60's to mid 70's. this would fit right in.

Travis:
A really well written song. The performance by Mike is exemplary. Loved the harmonies... and the beat feels "ancient" with those Tambourine sounds in the background. I don't remember hearing a version by Vic and Neil... and wonder about who "wrote/performed" it first? (Was it one of those songs that has fallen into the public domain?) That aside, it is stunning and beautiful. Best of luck with it... and Merry Christmas to all... and to all, Happier 2020!
All my best to two really talented people working together across the stormy Atlantic and the width of North America. The internet has made it possible for collaboration in ways we could never imagine a few short years ago. Great work, Travis and Mike.
----Dave

I remember doing this to Phil's template. As you say, it's good to hear different styles. Good luck with it, John.
