Hi everyone..I'd like to try and make this a song again...tks glyn Life And Death Out Here In Da Sticks Well I heard ole' man Thomas passed away another life gone, no one to carry on they'll put him in an ole' pine box into the back of a truck, with any luck have em' in the ground fore' the rain clouds erup say a prayer or two another life gone too damn quick working sun up to sun down, but that's Life And Death Out Here In Da Sticks When someone's born or someone dies is the only time the news flies we'll put on our best blue jeans a clean fresh cotten tee take a spread of food on down to the family show our respects, be on our way tomorrow promises a brighter day say our prayers for what we're thankful for That's Life and Death Out Here In Da Sticks Weren't afraid of no critter nor snake fished with real Hoppers cos we wanted live bait on Sunday's we'd pile into Pa's ole' truck headed to church to see the light Paw'd be dippin snuff spittin' in the wind if he turned his head to the left we'd lean into the right this was the best times of my life That's Life And Death Out Here In Da Sticks We'd swap a recipe, get together patch a quilt help the neighbors dressing out a hog run through the pastures jumpin' over logs to the shallow creek out back for a swim we'd swing across the water on a tire tied to a limb That's Life And Death Out Here In Da Sticks There was nothing like riding Pa's tractor on a hot early summer day smellin' the new plowed dirt and oh sweet fresh cut alfafa hay that was living life but we knew no other way when the old folks are gone we only have our memories That's Life And Death Out Here In Da Sticks Yeah That's Life And Death Out Here In Da Sticks Edited by glynda (07/25/12 11:57 AM) _________________________ http://www.youtube.com/GlyndasInterviewshttp://soundclick.com/songsbyglynhttp://songsbyglyn.webs.com

Glynda, That's an evocative look at a way of life that is disappearing like the buffalo. The Internet is pushing "the sticks" farther and farther away from civilization. Your nostalgic poem gives us a glimpse into the past and present. A very nice piece of work.

I enjoyed this one Glyn. Those simpler times when kids actually played and did things outside with family and friends are fading to memories for most. We had an Old man Thomas, great mechanic, ran the Phillips 66 Station maybe a half mile away. One of his kids was valedictorian. I'll check back in if you are reworking anything on this.

It's really nice, I like it.
I guess technically 'die to young' might not fit with 'ole man' but then again, when anyone you care about dies, its too young.
I like how the lyrics bring lots of images and scenes into my head.
