Hey All,

It is with great consideration and with a great deal of thank's that I write this post.

As a songwriter, we can always be over written. As a lyricist, we can always be over run..

As an artist , NEVER let anyone EVER put you down, You have the talent, THEY don''t.

It's Ok, I've had my 503'rd re-gection, ot there abouts.( I'll frame them as wallpaper one day )

I shall keep on trying.

Thanks to JPF, hope everyone is well,

cheers, niteshift

Keep your chin UP, niteshift:

Rejection is only confirmation that most music "opportunities" are only shams or have hidden agendas. American music may never recover from it's former days of super creativity. Our music laws and international agreements are being shredded by the special interest people who have enlisted our less than "Pro" organizations to support their dark objectives... money in their pockets... and none for us. Streaming is their chosen poison for us.

As usual, dirty politics is behind a significant part of this insanity.

Keep Tonga free if you can. ----Dave

I have never had a rejection Niteshift, maybe it could be that I have never sent any of my songs out....I wonder...ummmm

Mind you I did get 2 deals for my Helen (God Bless) her. 1 with Sony publishing, who have been sitting on it for over 30 years....

And then I got one of her songs as the theme music for a big film, but the film bummed out... Still she got to go to a world premiere...

Maybe there is a song there Nite called '503 rejections'

Sounds like my growing up pains lol

We can only keep going Nite as is in our nature.....

God Bless from me and Helen (God Bless) her

Roy

Yes, always press forward Nite. Rejection is a big part of the music business.

Good luck, John smile

Talent is Subjective. Even the Beatles got rejected.

I think the trick is not to give them the power over you. I haven't pitched a song in complete honesty, I havent pitched a song since the mid 90's!
I use to look at the songwriters market book and send demos to those companies.

I think the only prayer is if you perform yourself, which I can and do. But I havent made a demo that I feel confident in either.

I make alot of good starts and then say ...nah, that's not a good enough sounding demo.

its an endless circle. Write 5 songs, record them, not happy with recording, write 5 more songs, not happy with recording, etc etc etc

With all the tech we have now it should be easier, but I get bored fast, and I hear new things!

Just remember, Nite, whenever this heartless business gets you down, no matter how tough it gets, you'll always be a bastard to me.

LOL! Mark:

Obviously, our pal "Shifty" has a sense of humor. (He would probably spell it "humour!")

Regards to all who "risk" the "shame" of being rejected! Even Taylor Swift is not in complete control of her future!

Hi Nite,
I see you made it to Tonga since our last chat. Since the Philippines I have lived in Thailand for 3 1/2 years then my brother asked for my help so back to Knoxville USA and work for 3 years to pay off a house for him, then Cambodia for a month, which I hated; now Saipan which is a great place but way too expensive to live. I will be back in the Philipppines in 4 months.
Rejection is a bxxxxx! Almost as bad is having a #1 song on the CMA charts in the UK and your singer never sending CD's over to sell. This was before the download crazies, and the song was top 100 for 22 weeks across Europe. I made $8.41 from airplay. Pitched it in Nashville and they said it was "Too Country"! But Skip and I did get a cut on a yearly Halloween CD that brings in about $10 a year.

Have a goodun,

John W. Selleck BMI Songwriter
