He refuses to tip unless perfectly served gawkin at chicks like some kind of perve lays it to you straight then throws you a curve says he aint drunk while the wheel starts to swerve
I love him (but he's an azzhole) a life long friend up to the end He's the best (at least for a tool) always has my back a good ole sack, for a fool
He dont want me around i'll spoil his fun i'll make him think twice bout the things that he's done I told him that stripper would take all his cash "ahh your just jealous go get you some azz"
I love him (but he's an azzhole) a life long friend up to the end He's the best (at least for a tool) always has my back a good ole sack, for a fool
Surrounded by bikers a seedy dive bar "tin head" said "beat it" "or wish on a star" Big man stepped up took a bottle to the chin then a boot to the gut yeah.... that's him

Hi FD,
I like this.. The lyric is kind of a grown-up, gender inverted "My Sister" by Juliana Hatfield.
I was a little unsure about what happened in the biker bar, Who took the chin and gut punches. I'm thinking probably the singer's friend. "Tin head" seems to be another "endearment" for the singer's friend..and I want to think "Big man" is too, cuz it sounds like another nickname/put down..But if the singer's friend beat up a biker, that could be easily indicated by saying "A big man.." so although it made me have to think about it, I think I got it right..
Duuuh...ignore the above.."yeah, that's him" 'splains it..lol...and "tin head" is slang for a helmet..didn't know that..need more coffee...
This sings with a kind of early Tom Waits swagger.
Nice lyric..
Mike

I'm not quite sure about that bit either. I thought maybe "tin head" was a reference to a biker, with the helmets they wear. I saw the singer as the one surrounded and his friend as the one who took a beating for him. A minor tweak could make this clear. Even just adding "A" before "tinhead."
It's a fun lyric and says something meaningful about the nature of friendship.

Mike Thanks Mike. It was inspired by our conversation on the other thread. I gave the biker a nickname, they always have a nickname. I got the name from a local guy they called tin head for his uncanny ability to smash a full six pack across his forehead. I didnt know the guys name who told me to get out lol. Just said, I think you should leave, and sure enough the azzhole stepped in and got his butt kicked. Lucky thats all that happened, no stitches neccessary! Tom Waites treatment sounds great, will have to see how I can do it, a rare lyric first.

Gavin you nailed it!
Although I didnt call him tin head cause of the helmet, but that's interesting. It was based on a local guy they called Tin Head for his ability to smash a full six on his forehead.
But Im gonna change it to "The Tin Man" sounds tougher than tin head which makes him sound more stupid than tough!
Thanks for checkin it out.
