https://www.reverbnation.com/artwhimsicallyyoursstudioSay what?? are you talking to me? oh, man 'm starting to listen...... Your love is really saying something it’s whispering in my ear it wails at me in my lonely hours making itself perfectly clear. It spouts speeches when I’m working from the corners of my mind It bugs me when I try to hide thinking I can…But love is blind. Its infected me like a virus I can’t feel good... I’m so blue and there ain’t no shot to cure me unless I take a shot at you. you're driving me crazy baby! you're driving me crazy baby! And maybe I should listen to what your love has to say cause it’s offering me the finest catch that has ever come my way. Though my mother always told me there are lots of fish in the sea your love is huge, like Moby Dick the biggest whale is your love set free I need to get you next to me... oooohhhh, I need to get you next to me And though I like my freedom my lonely heart is bleeding and my chances are receding cause your getting tired of waiting for my endless hesitating pretty soon you might be hating me for being so frustrating. So I wrote this simple song and I’m coming on strong I'm coming on strong.... cause our hunger it needs slating. So slide on over next to me I don’t want to be estranged let’s celebrate love’s nagging me cause I love you girl…. I’m changed! I need to get next to you not further away forgive me for my apathy... I'm loving all that love has to say... Love chased me like the hounds of hell, Love was right and I was wrong.. in your arms is where I truly do belong. Take me as I am first reluctant then bewitched you are the reason I exist the reason I exist...baby let’s share the bliss of love’s sweet call cause I’m liking life like this… I just want to get next to you come on give me a big kiss oh, baby what the hell was I waiting for you got all I need and more. love was really saying something and this is my reply as I get lost in your eyes it’s time to give love a try you’ll be perfect girl I’ll be your perfect guy Come on over baby to the loving side you won’t be denied you’ll be my pride and joy come on over to the loving side I’m ready oh, baby I’m ready I’m ready for love ready for your love are you ready for mine it’ll be so fine are you ready for love are you ready for love are you ready for love…. Enjoyed my listen, MFB III: (Would you prefer I call you Matt or Fred?)
If you are able to divulge, please explain exactly who Colonel Denton happens to be? I'm assuming he does the music (after hearing your music line), playing and arranging only... but the process varies all over the map here at JPF.
One thought... and I mean this to be taken constructively... have you considered slowing the tempo a bit to make it easier for the listener's understanding?
All the best, ----Dave

Hey Dave, Thanks for your critique and comment. It is always appreciated. Colonel Denton lives in theUnited kingdom and he produces some incredible music. I take the music and run it through my tascam digital recorder and add vocals , lyrics and the melody line. The end result is usually fun and somewhat satisfying. long distance collaborarations will never beat being in a studio together and creating music, but My airline flights would break me...LOL I can slow the tempo on Audacity and make it easier for listener's to understand. it sounded good to me at the speed it is...but hey I wrote it and I understand the myrics better then most. Thanks for the skilled listen.

Hi MFB:
I hope you never misconstrue my thought about "experimenting" with tempo as criticism. My suggestion is simply to try several "takes" to see what seems to work best... and get the most responses. Audacity is a wonderful tool for that purpose. Try it out on a couple of trusted friends (seldom family members) and see what they think works best. Sometimes you efforts will lead you full circle... right back to the original.
I feel luckier than most, having an endless supply of lyrics and being able to create melodies to provide backing... usually with a little "shoehorning" of the lyrics. I also experiment with different genres on the same song title just to see if I can add more "verve" to my catalog. Now if only my vocal capabilities were better. I've begun working hard to improve that aspect of my "favorite hobby" but it may be too late in my less that successful career.
You obviously have the youth, talent and tenacity to do well if you can develop a method for opening doors into a well guarded music community. Now as I reach the "end of my journey" I find that pouring over candidate songs for improvement or scrapping in my catalog... or workbooks is a great pastime for an old geezer like me.
Wishing you all the success in the world in this overcrowded biz.
----Dave

Ah, Dave, you're never to old and it's never too late. We got eighty year old men there still pushing their songs, but the way I look at it....what a long strange trip it's been...and so much fun. just the sheer joy of creating music and then hearing your creation come back at you sounding wonderful is a gift that can't bought. I will follow your suggestions for you are wise in the art and i thank you for being a faithful listenenr and friend for so long. !~~Matt
