I have composed a melody for this lyric by Carroll Kiphen. Listen to it: My voice + ukulele https://app.box.com/s/9rxg0xspzt3dj4t1lwza39r4s5k0ga01I Have My Girl +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ © Lyrics: Carroll Kiphen, 2019. © Melody: Guy E. Trepanier, 2019.
Intro: 4 bars (key of C)
I don’t need your religion. I don’t need your promised land. I have a perfect angel To love and hold my hand.
She’s my paradise. She is my whole world. You can have heaven. I have my girl.
I don’t need any treasure. I don’t need diamonds or gold. I have a priceless jewel To hold and call my own.
She’s my paradise. She is my whole world. You can have heaven. I have my girl.
You can take all my possessions. Just leave me one thing. Cause I will always be wealthy. While she wears my ring.
Instrumental: 8 bars
I don’t need your religion. I don’t need your promised land. I have a perfect angel To love and hold my hand.
She’s my paradise. She is my whole world. You can have heaven. I have my girl.
She’s my paradise. She is my whole world. You can have heaven. I have my girl.
You can have heaven. I have my girl.

Hey Guy, Living here in Fiji, I always appreciate a uke and an island song. Yep, not so bad. It could do with a vocal tidy up, but has a catchy hook and a simple island feel. There are a couple of lines which are syllable heavy... Cause I will always be wealthy.and... I don’t need your promised land....which could do with a chop. You may like to revise I don’t need your religion. which may offend some listeners. Other than that, it's a cute song with a simple message and a memorable hook and melody. cheers, niteshift

"Whether your next song is #1 on Billboard, or a critical failure by all measurable standards, go look in the mirror. You are the exact same person you were the day before your received the news. Never forget that." -Brian Austin Whitney
