Nobody has posted here in over a year, with me being the last person who posted here. So I figured I'd post this to see if there is any life here. I uploaded my latest song Let Me In earlier this week. It was an experiment with the lead vocals being generated by my computer. More info on how I did this may be found at https://www.stonemarmot.com/rantrave/letmeinvocal.html. The backup vocals are just a synthesizer setting.

Hey Andy, long time no see! I like the song. Japan has all kinds of popular singers who are actually computer programs - it's sort of a brave new world. I don't think computerized singers will wholesale replace humans, but I do think they'll exist side by side. Heck, we are in an era where dead musicians are still touring in hologram format. Or is it holograph? I dunno. Anyway, I've still been doing music - I put out a new album (The One Thing) in 2017, on iTunes/Spotify/etc. I've recently started practicing because I want to do gigs again. I got kinda burned out on them and stopped, but now I'm missing it. I think a good way to start getting out in front of people would be to attend some open mics. Are there any good ones out there? If not... might you be interested in teaming up to start one?

Hi Richard,
It's good hearing from you. I also released another CD last year, though strictly digital so far, only available as a download. That is the only way I've sold anything the past couple years. No one seems interested in physical copies anymore, though I may eventually do a physical release of the CD as a calling card, if nothing else.
I'm not really interested in doing open mics, so I haven't been looking for them or checking them out. But I do see a few listed in the "Musicians" section of Craigslist. I also occasionally see some venues I go to for other reasons advertise that they have open mics certain nights. If I remember any of them or run into others I'll list them here.
Good luck and keep checking here. I seem to be the only one from Tampa Bay that looks at this forum anymore.
Andy

That's a fun song. The computer generated voice gives it a kind of inexplicable charm. Also really enjoyed "My Girlfriend Is A Zombie."
