I have composed a melody for this lyric by Carroll Kiphen. Listen to it: My voice + ukulele https://app.box.com/s/c78pu2q556vru3qf0ro5eomnj9755ttb Soul Man Sing The Blues ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ © Lyrics: Carroll Kiphen, August 2019. © Melody: Guy E. Trepanier, Aug - Sept 2019. Intro: 4 bars (key of E) Soul man sing me a song From back in the day. Soul man take my guitar. Show me how to play. Tell me the story of your life. How your wife done you bad. Make us know how she broke your heart. How she took all you had. Pull out your harmonica. Make it wail the blues. Do what you were born to do. Soul man sing the blues. Do what you were born to do. Soul man sing the blues..... .... .... .... Share your sorrow with me Put tears in my eyes. Let me walk in your shoes. Hear your guitar cry. Tell me the story of your life. How your wife done you bad. Make us know how she broke your heart. How she took all you had. Pull out your harmonica. Make it wail the blues. Do what you were born to do. Soul man sing the blues. Do what you were born to do. Soul man sing the blues..... .... .... ....

Guy,
An "old fashioned" raw Blues Song which feels like a song you'd hear someone playing on old wooden front porch somewhere in the deep South! I like the down to earth vibe you have going on, simple lyrics yet effective.
I met a WWII veteran who was 95 yrs of age the other day on a business appt. With his permission I took his picture and recorded him with me asking him questions about his service in the South Pacific Isl campaign during WWII. He spoke so fluently about embedded memories--I love talking to old folks about their lives for sure--your song has embraces that important respect that we should all have for our elders, as they love to reminisce and share their experiences about the "Olden Days."
Regards,
steady-eddie

Hi Guy,
Nice melody and delivery for these lyrics which works here with your Ukulele. Spicing up the arrangement I think would take away from the special bluesy feel of the song. I agree with steady-eddie - love the down to earth vibe.
