I was humbled and honored in a way that I have never felt before after receiving a message from a young lady telling me that her aunt had passed away after a four year battle with cancer. The young lady asked if they could play one of my songs at her aunt's funeral service. It seems the song was the last thing her aunt had posted on her FaceBook page and it meant a lot to her. https://frettie.com/track_detail/1957

I know what you mean. I had it happen to me years ago. A woman wrote to say her husband found salvation through listening to a tape of my songs while lying in a hospital bed dying of cancer. He requested four songs from that tape to be played at his funeral. There is no feeling like it knowing you touched someone that way. Congratulations.

Marvin, I went to your site and listened to bits and pieces of many of your songs. You have some great stuff, I'm surprised that you have not hit the big times. Maybe it is because you are writing REAL country and will not fit into what passes for country these days. I especially liked Granddad's birthday, I'm sure many can relate to this. I wrote one along the same theme called Why don't they come home. Keep writing and stay true to yourself.

Thanks Everett for taking the time to listen to some of my catalog, and to post here. I know what you mean by writing "Real" country. I have tried but I just can't force myself to write what passed for country music today. Thank you again my friend, and best of luck to you as well!
