With all the changes being fought for in the music business’s royalty realm (benefitting mostly the top artists), I think it’s time to make it mandatory that cue sheets be filed no later than 6 months after airing on TV (subject to penalties). Tunesat estimates that 60-80% of cue sheets are never turned in. That can equate to a large sum of money for struggling composers. Best, John

I agree. I know of one case for sure that I never received royalties because cue sheets were never turned in. My PRO did nothing to follow up even when I told them about it.

Yes, I was told by ASCAP to check with your publisher for delinquent cue sheets. Makes sense, since they're in contact with the clients. John

I wish I had something of benefit to contribute. All I receive these days are notices of intent to use songs from my catalog by an outfit in Los Angeles... as they represent other on-line streaming organizations. Unless the laws have changed regarding Compulsory Licensing. They intend to use my own recordings... instead of having other artists doing "covers" of my work and songs from my small stable of Artists. Am I on firm legal ground if I decide to sue? This really seems to be a "stretch" of the intent of the law.
Streaming activity is nearly impossible for small publishers to track.
