Blood of the devil Verse When I was young they tried religion. They didn’t spare the rod. Tried beating the devil out of me. That turned me off to god. Pre chorus They turned the flame up hotter. But they didn’t understand. The harder you beat a boy The harder you make the man. Chorus Born a rebel, blood of the devil Running in my veins. Say I’m crazy, they tried can’t change me. Say I’ll die that way. Born a rebel, blood of the devil Running in my veins. Verse When I was young there was a woman. She tried to save my soul. Tried loving the devil out of me. It only left me cold. Bridge Now a days when I hear a sermon. I tell the preacher man. The harder you beat a boy The harder you make the man. Verse When I was young they tried religion.

I really like this, especially the pre-chorus. It is very well stated, driving home your overall point. If I were to suggest a change, it would be in the bridge. You basically repeat what’s in the pre-chorus. I’d go with the idea of hearing a sermon and speaking to the preacher, but use that opportunity to elaborate even more on why you are turned off of religion. Just my 2-cents worth. Nice work!

a revised version K or S
Blood of the devil
Verse When I was young they forced religion. They didn’t spare the rod. Tried beating the devil out of me. That turned me off to god.
CHORUS They turned the flame up hotter. But they didn’t understand. The harder you beat a boy The harder you make the man. They tried to make me change. Yet the blood of the devil's here Running through my veins
Verse When I was young there was a woman. She tried to save my soul. Tried loving the devil out of me. It only left me cold.
They turned the flame up hotter. But they didn’t understand. The harder you beat a boy The harder you make the man. They tried to make me change. Yet the blood of the devil's here Running through my veins
Bridge Now a days when I hear a sermon. I tell the preacher man. The harder you beat a boy The harder you make the man.
CHORUS They turned the flame up hotter. But they didn’t understand. The harder you beat a boy The harder you make the man. They tried to make me change. Yet the blood of the devil's here Running through my veins
