Video of Acoustic/Vocal/BGV's to see where the tune is at.....Full band recording has begun with my usual studio guys in Nashville...Genre will be Country.
When it comes to "Love Songs" I believe you've cornered the market. For a "worktape"... this is a gem. Can't wait to hear the final production... but it works well exactly as you recorded it here. Nice vocal... I might add!
I think you put this across really well, Steve. It's going to be good. Simple, sincere and with a really great hook. Looking forward to hearing the finished version.

Yeah, a few people have said it was a good track. My intention was a total throwaway track. Others have liked this track alot, go figure....Since you listened I added BGV's and someone has convinced me to add another guitar. We shall see how that goes tonight.

It's a nice song and very personal and personable.
It has some abstract metaphors that provide visuals but it might could use a couple of more concrete visuals to put the listener into the scene with the people being sung about.

Thanks for listening and commenting....This was intended to be a throw away track,..I recorded the acoustic with my 4th best guitar that I never play, a $199 dollar guitar. Go figure

I like the slow-ish tempo and could hear power ballad type brushed drums in the mix. Lots of room in between sung notes for your studio guys to work some magic with appropriate fills and such.
Good song.
Nice to meet you!

Yeah I am a firm believer in the Hook/Chorus driving a tune. I appreciate your comment about the hook. It all starts with the Chorus for me. If I can get one I really believe in and love singing, the rest of the song takes on a life of its own. I am a firm believer in writing from the Chorus
Thanks for listening

Hi Steve. "First love, last love" is a fine fitting title for the lyric. Pretty good song too.
Vic
Thanks Vic...The song was inspired & started out totally different as in the singer didn't end up with either my first love or last love....It was on the bummer side and didn't want to add another 'love lost" song to my catalog...So I scrapped that idea and strapped on my boots got "in character" & rewrote the whole tune...

Hi Mike,
That is the direction " Power Ballad" we are going for with this...Studio guys are cutting the Rythym track today.

Hi Luna,
Thanks for the good word. I went a different direction on this as at first it was about First & Last loves both not lasting....The original line was "Sometimes baby, Love AIN'T meant to be"...It was too personal so I decided to go universal....
My first drafts were pretty pathetic....

Great sentiments a nice easy feel to it,great when love lasts sadly not for us all. Good song Steve, well worth developing more. I think the lyric is sound and well thought through Regards Travis

You know I was going to be specific and bring up like how they met and it just seemed too predictable...For whatever reason I chose to leave it open to interpretation. I guess we all know not many will experience First Love, Last Love...So this opens it up to others to play with it and relate more...Calculated risk but felt right for this particular tune to leave it with metaphors and open to interpretation
