Drive America
(C) 2019 Geneva Griffin
V1 I traded my old Peterbuilt For a Kenworth 13 speed Payments up the backside Cup'a hun'rd mile coffee. Less crawlin' on the incline Cheatin' in my log books I still keep my pricin' honest While deliverin' more goods.
CH I don't claim to be a highway hero I'm a man with a heavy load I'm in it for the long haul Help us keep on keepin' on strong.... I just keep on truckin' cuz it's in my blood and from my heart I drive America
V2 I'm proud to be some part Of the US of A backbone The heartbeat of America Got the goods movin' along I'm no mother cluckin' son I run hard wet, dry, or ice It's not yer ever'day 9 to 5'r Your lifeline's my way of life
CH I don't claim to be a highway hero I'm a man with a heavy load I'm in it for the long haul Help keep us keep on keepin' on strong.... I just keep on truckin' cuz it's in my blood and from my heart I drive America
Bridge I won't give the finger If I don't get cut off There's rubber neckers in the hammer lane While a bear makes a traffic stop.. This sucker for a youngster Who gives an arm pump Will gladly blow the air horn Proudly drivin' America
CH I don't claim to be a highway hero I'm a man with a heavy load I'm in it for the long haul Help us keep on keepin' on strong.... I just keep on truckin' cuz it's in my blood and from my heart I drive America
I tryin' keep the shelves well stocked Your cupboards full like all the ole road dogs Drivin' America

You stay on theme very strongly. Some gravel-voiced trucker would pick this up and sing it. But, if you're a lady trucker, hearing that voice,a and seeing a video, could be powerfully effective too!
There will always be another song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? www.garyeandrews.com

Thanks Gary,
I like the Male POV best. I once wrote a lyric called this truckers wife. It was about his long runs and kinda mushy about her missing him and then him coming home.
