https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13888525CASUALTY OF TIME. V Barley swayed in golden waves as far as my eyes could see as if showing me the distance separating you from me. V We loved, we fought, cried and tried but it could never be Ev'ry dance was our last dance then we parted finally C Like summer flowers are casualties of time. Beautiful while they last only fleeting by design We were casualties of time A casualty of time V Tried to think where you are wherever you could be Wonder if you feel this pain or are you happy to be free B I've play our song so many times You are that misty rose too lovely to forget, too beautiful to be alone C

Ahhh! You wistful thing, Travis.
Different. Folky lyrics with a jazz arrangement.

This is a very beautiful song with a smooth production and great vocal deliverance. The lyrics are very compelling also.

Vic, Mimmo, Martin, Jane, Calvin, and Matt, Thanks for the nice comments. John presented me with a beautiful lyric and a moderately slow vocal melody for a ballad with a definite 3/4 slant, and those are always challenging, but I like the fact that any waltz is also a slower 4/4 swing, and found occasion here to use that fact--you can hear the song start with that slow 4/4 feel, but almost imperceptibly, it becomes a moderate waltz tempo when the right channel guitar enters in the first chorus. There's a simple math formula to figure out the "4/4 swing" equivalent of a moderate 3/4 waltz but I'll save it unless anyone is interested. Thanks again, Mike
