Say What the Hell and Smile (Neil Cotton)
Bad attitudes and punctured tires Hold you back until they’re changed Kicking tires just gets you wired Laugh a little help's on the way
Don’t mope around Don’t make it worse Change the tone and Change the chorus Be an alpha crocodile Say… what the hell and smile
Slumpin’ ‘round face like a hound Never makes things happen Do karate when you’re down Scream and just start wackin’
Don’t mope around Don’t make it worse Change the tone and Change the chorus Be an alpha crocodile Say… what the hell and smile
Not everyone likes the Science Some fools likely call it fake When the body gets to jivin’ Feel good is thee take away
Don’t mope around Don’t make it worse Change the tone and Change the chorus Be an alpha crocodile Say… what the hell and smile

I had a hard time teaching coworkers that there's no need to get negatively emotional when problems arose. That energy wasted ranting in anger was energy I needed to solve the problem and move on. Usually, if that was the worst thing that happened to us that day, we were living in blessed' lands! Good one, Neil.
There will always be another song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? www.garyeandrews.com

I get that idea really well Neil. We're definitely in an age of stubbornness and pessimissm. And hating to say this but that my age of Millenialism also often sticks itself in the mucky puddle of narcissism. Sorry fellow grown 90s kids but there's a lot of them...but if those with hopeful minds come across this song maybe they can be of some influence? I'm encouraged and inspired. Great job! luna~

Nice lyric with a nice message. I love the line about the "alpha crocodile"! It's one of those lines which is just fun to say or sing.

How about "Change the verse" instead of "Change the chorus"? It sings a lot better. I like the whole vibe of this lyric.

David Burtner Thanks....you are right...I was thinking like a song critiquer..."You need more contrast between the chorus and verses"
