Thanks to Deej for finishing perhaps my favourite song of the batch we've done over the past few months.. We aimed for simple and uncompicated, has it worked iout? Please have a listen and leave a comment/ suggestion Regards Travis https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13878866Just Like Love (V) Angels don't fall from heaven, not when they have wings to fly. Those colours in the rainbow they ain’t painted by some guy. (C) Somethings are meant to be. Somethings come naturally. Just like love. Just like love. (V) Sunshine and rain grow flowers. Well, I wish love grew that way. From the shore the tide will flow, but it comes back everyday. (C) Somethings are meant to be. Somethings come naturally. Just like love. Just like love. (B) You can see love, and you can feel love— it’s just like love ought to be. And when you see love, when you feel love, then love will set you free. (V) Nobody tells the wind how to blow, and you walk before you run. One thing I know for sure, love, is someday you’ll find someone. (C) Somethings are meant to be. Somethings come naturally. Just like love. Just like love.

Hey guys!
The song has a very pleasant melody, well performed, nice arrangement--although I feel the sax especially with the "solo" should be more forward in the mix. John, not sure, but I felt that maybe you should reverse the 1st & 2nd chorus line--for me the first line modifies the 2nd line better in that reversed order? Maybe no big difference, but just a thought........

Hi Ed Thanks for your support and yes the swap around does read better. Thanks for that suggestion, and the sax comment which i'm sure Dave will get back to you on, although personally ( rightly or wrongly) i like it dampened diwn as it were. Regards John

Got a message from the BBC that the song which was uploaded to their system has now been listened too. So fingers crossed for a radio broadcast either Thursday or Saturday ln BBC Introducing. Travis

Hello Travis
This is a great song you recorded. Very hooky chorus, good lyrics and great vocals. I started to sing to it right away. Great news on the song being broadcast - that sounds exciting!

Wow, great stuff, guys! Such a catchy tune! A real feel-good sing-along number and well-performed. And the lyrics have that simple unpretentious feeling that's not easy to capture. If I happened on this song while flicking through stations on the radio, I'd stop flicking and listen to the end. I'm probably the worst judge, but I think this has commercial appeal. If you trim it by one second, it's short enough for the Eurovision Song Contest Congrats.

Calvin, Guy, Owen, Vic, Eddie, Jane, Gavin, Pete, Bob and Steve,
Apologies for the delayed reply, but have had family in town and couldn’t find time to spend on JPF. But belated thanks for giving this one a listen and I’m glad you all seemed to enjoy it.
Eddie: Interesting suggestion on reversing the first two lines in the chorus—I don’t disagree it might work slightly better. As a vocalist, I think it’s easier to sing as is—e.g., 4 syllables (Somethings are meant) followed by two (to be) in the first line, then 3 syllables (Somethings come) followed by 3 in the second line (naturally)—as you can’t break up “naturally” not sure it would sing as smooth moving that to the first line. Not sure that makes sense, and it may just be the way I’m used to singing it more than anything. Oh, and I'll give another listen to the sax . . . you might be right that it can come up a tad.
Gavin: I have no idea what Eurovision is . . . and from Travis’s reply I’m wondering whether I should!
Thanks again all for the spin!
Deej

Hey Travis and Deej Love the whole mood this song sets. It perked up a somewhat stagnant Sunday morning. Great lyrics that speak to the kind of love we all long to share. Love the brass and the sincerity of your vocals. Great final note as well to wrap it all up.

Hi guys, "Those colours in the rainbow they ain’t painted by some guy" John, you had me from that line on..very disarming and clever yet warm, which turns out is the basic feel of the lyric as a whole. Great work. Deej, fantastic vocal and nice arrangement. Mike

Fantastic feel-good tune you guys! This is probably just a matter of style, or just nit-picky lol, but the bridge feels choppy and sparse to me.... Plenty of room for more Vox. (B) You can see love's brilliance shining proudly and you can feel love's heart pounding loudly it’s just like love ought to be. And when you see love dancing and smiling at you when you feel love guiding all that you do then you know love has set you free. Something like that.... Just a thought
