T.O. is Toronto Ontario
The Shoe (Neil Cotton)
Bars and Taverns, watering holes Too many to name in old T.O. More'n a stiff drink is to be had Live music lives most good some grand
An Iconic venue is among the bunch Famous for the acts that it booked Including Willie, Johnny and June When they were punks at the old Horseshoe.
The Horseshoe Tav’ern Near Spadina on Queen Drew the best to The Toronto scene A string of who’s who Performed at the Shoe.
To claim it’s cool is all well and good Marquee artists will prove it’s true Loretta, The Band, and Blue Rodeo The Horseshoe hosted Stompin’ Tom shows
The Horseshoe Tav’ern Near Spadina on Queen Drew the best to The Toronto scene A string of who’s who Performed at the Shoe.
Surprise appearances have taken place The Stones, Bryan Adams and Mellissa Ethridge

This is good and provocative. The Toronto chamber of commerce ought to use it. I noticed the verbs are in past tense, is the horseshoe no longer around?

Yes it is still there but the most renowned names, for me, were from the past. There is more that could be added about local Indie, but the chorus is really about the past that made it famous. Your point is valid; maybe i could slip something in to bring it to the present...it opened in 1947...has had expected ownership & physical changes , but still exists. The first verse alludes to it. then switches The Shoe (Neil Cotton) Bars and Taverns, watering holes Too many to name in old T.O. Rated C? Canadian? Thanks for the warning Neil. I sent the women and children out of the room. LOL
This should play well in T. O., if you've got a good Melody and tempo. Try it out on a live audience and let us know.
There will always be another song to be written. Someone will write it. Why not you? www.garyeandrews.com

Not sold on what it will be....maybe country honky tonk or rockabilly as that was the sound back in the day. I'll get back to you.
