Bitter Pill
Verse
Iím feeling a sense of urgency
As the pages of life are turned.
Itís knowing the end is impending.
The bridge to the past has been burned.
Pre chorus
Lord if you can hear me?
I still have things to do.
Loose ends that need tying
Before my time is thru.
Chorus
Thereís a woman I need to make love to.
There are fantasies to fulfill.
If I die and never do these things.
Life will have been one bitter pill.
Verse
I have lived the life you chose for me
And Iíve missed out on lots of things.
So is it too much to ask of you
To have a final fling.
Pre chorus
Lord if you can hear me?
I still have things to do.
Loose ends that need tying
Before my time is thru.
Chorus
Thereís a woman I need to make love to.
There are fantasies to fulfill.
If I die and never do these things.
Life will have been one bitter pill.

Hi Mr. K:

You have a fantastic lyric working over my curiosity... as a lyric writer and eventually, a song-writer. I have no suggestions or nits... your reputation precedes you and I know you will whip this into a thing of perfection. Barry Butler mentioned you often and, if my memory is correct, you two collaborated more than once.

The title is a magnet and the reader is not disappointed. Did you have a genre in-mind or is it too soon to even go there? I don't spend much time here at the lyric boards but noticed your name and wanted to give you the courtesy of a read-through. Best of luck with this... and in all you do creatively. ----Dave

Hi again, C.K.:

I did a "cut and paste" of your lyric and will do my best to "musicate it" for your approval in a few days. My schedule "runneth over" at this juncture in my life... but this is too good to pass up. I've been having some pretty serious health issues and still have several appointments with various "Quacks" to see if relief can be discovered.

Meanwhile, I've had to let my chess club down and we usually play on Mondays and Thursdays. This lyric is "front and center" on my music stand and I'll hopefully make a first pass at it this afternoon or evening... depending upon the number of chores my "boss of 58 3/4 years" has lined up for me.

As always, it's your lyric and you have control of the entire collaboration. If you don't like what I come up with... fire me, suggest other ideas... or tell me to keep my hands "off your lyrics"... LOL!

Regards, ----West Mayberry Dave

Just Plain Quotes
"A lot of people will tell you that preparation is what will make you successful. But I think that people misunderstand exactly what that means sometimes. The type of preparation you need most is the kind that allows you to instantly seize an opportunity, change your course based on a momentary circumstance, and grab hold of the totally unexpected when it happens, and allow it to take you for the ride of your life! That is the kind of preparation that can lead to the most enjoyable type of success." -Brian Austin Whitney
