Composed this one for myself. I do that occasionally. I tried to capture destruction, despair, and beauty throughout this work. I think even the most skeptic has no doubt that man (us) are destroying the Earth – and in the process, ourselves. The last two years should be a wake-up call. Severe weather with tornadoes, floods, winds, hurricanes, tsunami’s, extreme temperature changes – reaching scary levels. It’s probably now too late to save Mother Earth – so sad… especially for our children. This music isn't everyone's cup-of-tea...

Beethoven Meets Chopin! Outstanding composition and playing!

I am and have been a long time hobby science guy, who researches data from the Cosmos back to Earth. LOVE Science! It is what is actual!

For just discussion, the tornadoes, floods, winds, hurricanes, tsunami’s, extreme temperature changes, which of course when in those times would seemingly have our experience of them reaching scary levels. Freeman Dyson and many Scientists not connected with Universities of one party or another are able to present the actual data without hype or assuming conclusions. I can assure you that there have been much worse weather and climate times in recorded history. Us being alive now and hearing the news report ALL the storms and such of course would have seem we are some doom and gloom times. Not the case. If we look at various decades, and back in the 1800's, never mind the the reported millions being killed by severe cold winters and that had one go right through the summer,,,,,THOSE people would laugh at what we see now. Freeman Dyson correctly pointed out that first, there is NO good world climate data to point to any conclusion. The reason being the non scientific way temp detectors have been placed aronf the earth. He charted every single one of them, and has a chart which clearly shows what he explained. This many in one section. Then, a completely different amount of detectors placed just here and there in others. Each section of the globe has differently placed, (up and down, and farther apart and some closer to others in other sections). No one can say these days what the actual overage temp of the globe is. For the ice in the poles? More ice is forming in them than is melting. Melting and freezing is a normal occurance. Much has to do with the Sun's activity in 11 year cycles, and with the current shrinking of the Earth's magnetic field, due to the core of the earth changing over time. Nothing stays the same! Before, when a real climate surge happened, it was to melt the ice ages! CO2 from people weren't around then, yet it was enough heat to melt a hundred foot thick glacier overo the top 3rd of the USA! NYC to be was under 100 feet of solid ICE! Now, that is climate change to the extreme. So was the warming over a few thousand or so years to melt it, (again). life adapted. Early Homo Erectus, because of climate changes between those times learned to adapt, to become the dominate people later on. climate changes led to US being here now! (This months Scientific American fully explains how in great proven detail of the great Serengetti in Africa, to many areas of plants, water and temps to move to. Other species did not or could not do that. They are all long gone). There is SO much to go over and digest as to the current stage of the Erath's climate. CO 2 is not the boogy man, for it is mostly absorbed by the plants needing CO2 to live, and by all the Oceans. The MORE water there is, the more CO2 is being absorbed! The melting around the edges of the caps is a GOOD thing in that regard. Plants in the sea NEEDS co2 too. Methane is the real boogy man on earth. Made from underground plants decaying. Got to keep them trapped! ,,,,well. ok, enough of some science for now. Just remember Freeman Dyson and his accurate chart of in accurate temp measurements around the Earth. VERY shoddy.

Okay, I was wrong. There are still skeptics. I can only say, I'm hoping your reasoning is correct and future weather extremes decline. From a skeptic in the other camp.. In my lifetime, which is quite lengthy, I've never experience this amount of extreme weather conditions, than in the last couple years. There's too much real scientific data out there to be ignored.

It's nice to see you post here again, seems like it's been a while. Always enjoy your music. This music for me felt comprehensive in it's capturing emotions of despair, loneliness, & hope without being too melodramatic--could be before or after the fact of an event, but didn't feel during the event. That's what I felt, and enjoyed the ride!

I think us writers of song can learn from writing like this, cause the music should evoke whats being conveyed. This was interesting.

On the Earth deteriorating, I recall a George Carlin skit he did. He was talking about how everybody's talking about how the Earth is going to be destroyed. The earth has survived, earthquakes, tsunamis, ice ages, Meteors, its been flipped upside down several times, yet its still here, and we think we're going to take it down with styro foam cups!

Then he said the Earth is not going anywhere, WE are, lol

Maybe listening to this will convince those skeptics who believe they know better than 99% of the scientists (the real ones), since they seem to base their judgment on a feeling rather than facts. Well, it won't of course, but they should still listen to it because it's so good.

Thanks Gavin! One thing I noticed during Sunday drives. Very rare to see insects crushed on the windshield of the car. What happened to the insect population? These subtle things are occurring and few are noticing.

Song aside, here are the facts I've experienced locally. Insects everywhere in the summers, as always. Cool Fall, cold friggin Winter and the coolest Spring I can remember. In
Arizona.

The local landscape is as beautiful as it was when I first moved here in 81. We've had floods and bad storms, same as this area has experienced for thousands of years.

When I'm on my exercycle watching an old ep of Charlie's Angels, it's hard not to notice the sea level in LA is exactly the same as in an ep of NCIS: LA. (My viewing tastes are deep and exotic).

It's also hard not to notice that bloviators like Al Gore who've made hundreds of millions off Global Warming leave a T-Rex-sized carbon footprint. Not to mention corporations like CNN moving to NYC, a place allegedly doomed to go under water.

Speaking of old TV shows...I recently saw an ep of Barney Miller where the "intellectual" of the squad room, Dietrich, was explaining the dangers of Global...Cooling.

99% of scientists? "Real" scientists? Has there been a poll I'm unaware of? Furthermore, anyone who expresses doubt about Global Warming orthodoxy will be instantly ostracized.
Most scientists rely on grants and are understandably reluctant to stray from official doctrine.

Many common folk hear what the media says about Global Warming, and realize it doesn't jibe with their own experiences. And since the media get caught in a self-serving lie on a weekly basis, some common folk feel fully justified in dismissing climate alarmism as a load of complete fucking bullshit.

Well, I respectfully disagree Couch. I've lived 70 years in the same location. The last several years have had an extreme weather change. Rain, wind, storm after storm like I've NEVER experienced before. Also insect and wildlife has declined drastically here. Haven't seen a snake in 5 years. Haven't squashed a bug on my windshield in 2 years. Prior to this, I've seen snakes galore every summer and swarms of bugs. It may be comforting to say "weather change is just a hoax", but it ain't so. It's time for humans to live up to their responsibilities and start treating Mother Earth with respect.

We'll agree to disagree, John. And my post wasn't really directed at your song or posts, but at a derisive attitude I detected toward skeptics.

Bugs aren't gonna decrease if the temp warms, they're gonna be more of em. Same with snakes. In fact, a couple of
people saw some snakes locally in early Spring causing weather forecasters to say, "See!! Global Warming!! Aaahh!!"

That was followed by a very cool Spring. I've earned my right to be skeptical of media-promoted alarms. They keep turning out to be lies.

Pesticides and less than ideal environments are some causes of the diminishing bug population. More and more of the Earth is being covered with asphalt and cement. Goodbye to wetlands. We've seen that here. Okay, I'll let you have the last word on this Couch.

Unless you're seeing alotta people running around with big cans of Raid, that's probably not the cause, if it is happening. Farmers will spray to keep bugs off their crop.

A rainier, warmer climate means more bugs, not less. Which is why I avoid the south.

Less bugs and snakes is actually an argument for global cooling, not warming.

I respect your concern for the environment, John.

Thanks John, enjoyed listening to your composition, and I totally agree with your inspiration for it. I remember years ago driving through Xenia, OH after a cat 4 tornado had hit the downtown, the devastation was terrifying.. Usually those who are skeptics have a business or political bias. And it's not just co2 , raising cattle produces large amounts of methane which is an even worse problem. And it will take a worldwide awareness and change to correct it. Our current leadership is not helping, Fox news is owned and managed by a coal magnate who has force his country, Australia to continue reliance on burning coal for energy.

tornadoes are caused by cold air, not hot. That's why they're rare in tropical climates. the reason for the recent run of tornadoes in the mid-west is that we're having an unusually cold Spring.

who Fox News is owned by is irrelevant, all that's relevant is the accuracy of information. Conservatives are more likely to be skeptical of climate alarmism, but their info is hardly limited to Fox News. My first post detailed my personal experiences, which I
stand by. Snakes and bugs like hot weather, they would increase in a warmer climate.

and, of course, Russia/Trump collusion. That involved two years and tens of millions of dollars for an "investigation" that had no predicating crime.


I support no political party or leader. Never have and never will. Since the late 60s-early 70s there have been many, many dire predictions about the environment...not a single one has come to pass. In my view, skepticism of apocalyptic climate prophecies
is warranted.

Severe weather occurs when cold winds crash with warm winds. That’s what happened here yesterday. We had cold winds from the North, crashing with warm winds from the South. When they meet there can be a twirling effect, thus, possibility of tornadoes. Global warming relates to the average temperature over the entire surface of the planet. Some areas will still experience cold temperatures. The average temperature of the Earth has been increasing steadily for a number of years, and still is increasing. Not difficult for scientists to keep accurate records of Earth's temperatures.
