Back To The Basics (Neil Cotton) https://www.soundclick.com/html5/v4/player.cfm?songID=13831754I will find an island give it no name The sun will shine with a skiff of rain I’ll ask you folk from the great white north All done with winter come get on board Together we will build palm log homes See the sea from our wicker thrones Back to the basics where nothing is owned Garden fresh veggies organic’ly grown Fishing in the surf with bamboo poles Back to the basics do we need any clothes Run like a commune staples are shared Don’t need a council or any damn mayor If disagreements should happen to rise Ask 3 elders let them decide The hectic race of the mainland world Will soon be forgotten just take my word Back to the basics where nothing is owned Garden fresh veggies organic’ly grown Fishing in the surf with bamboo poles Back to the basics do we need any clothes Back to the basics where nothing is owned....nothing is owned

Neil,
I think these might be among my favorite lyrics from you—it’s tight and focused all the way though. I think my favorite is “Don’t need a council or any damn mayor”—nice line that underscores your theme well. And your choice of music is the right direction to go. Production wise the balance between the vocals and instruments sound like they need a bit refining—e.g., drum jumps out a bit too much in spots for me. But good start to the tune.
Best regards,
Deej

I like it. the Hawaiian theme of the music fits the island theme of the lyrics. Both are nice.
optional line don't invite moose unless he says he'll where clothes. ;-)
