Um, Well,
Yes if you can make it tasteful. Lemme see. Charlie Rich recorded a song, BEHIND CLOSED DOORS that played pretty well but some Radio Stations refused to play it. Jean Shepard recorded a song, not exactly on the same theme, TWO WHOOPS AND A HOLLER that also many Radio Stations refused to play. So give it a try if you have something in mind.

I think guys have been writing about women when the woman either doesnt exist, or doesnt know they exist forever.

I remember in high school, guys who sat at the nerd table had songs about girls. Where were all these girls?

You can write from imagination. The question is are you good enough to override the fact you dont know anything about it.

Usually the answer is no

The main issue with the plethora of threads on these stes is the clueless attitude.
Questions like" Can someone write me a song?"
Or a heading such as" i want £200 for my lyric,"
Suppose if you don't ask you don't get

Travis, I have loads of songs for sale if you are interested...

Damm I forgot, me and you wrote them together.... Still you can buy my half if you want..lol

God Bless from me and H...

Seriously, I treasure all of our songs... for me they are priceless.

As for your question, " I want to write a song about sex. But I'm a virgin. Is that okay?" Some how I just don't believe you and my memory doesn't go back that far to help you...

They say write about what you know, now a good imagination helps too when writing songs.

Roy lol it wasn't my question it was on a forum.
I'd be slightly concerned if i had hung onto my virtue until my present age. In fact i i never did fight it.

Morning, Travis:

I started to explain my interpretation of what you posted but decided you might prefer to straighten us out... LOL! Aaah, Virtue! I kept mine much longer than I would have desired... but life has a way of working those things out for us!

Hopefully, the person who posted the appeal for permission to write about something he/she knows little or nothing about... will eventually figure out that "one can write just about anything one desires... but it is usually better to "know of whence you speak!"

Have a great day! ----Dave

Song writing is story telling. Everyone likes a good story and many of the most famous story tellers were great liars. If what you are writing about is not true, make it an entertaining story, told well, and set to a snappy tune.

I think the passion and pent up energy that a young mans unrewarded burgeoning sex drive contains is most of the reason for the advances and improvements we've experienced as a race of beings. It's why most great advancements don't come from the high school quarterback who gets all the girls early and often. He's too busy reaping the rewards while the vanquished are building their skills, character and work ethic to perfect things to moe us forward, often in the hopes of finally attracting their dream girl. Most music has been written by men not getting any. Once you're satiated, the creativity often dries up as well.

I think every guy has that or similar experiences that have motivated him and I am sure that women have experiences that drive them as well, though I am not expert on that and can only speak from my side of the aisle so to speak. I had success over the years in sports, theater, small level politics, small brushes with fame etc. and I definitely have had plenty of reason and opportunity to improve myself because of unrequited love. (Has anyone with a y or x chromosome not had unrequited love?). I think the pursuit of love real or even imagined is the reason for most all the good and most all the bad in the world. If only we could change it to all the good alone.

As men we have a rough precedent setting mating history we have yet to overcome. When Oog wanted Moog he used a club as a date drug. When my Viking ancestors were feeling the need to breed they added rape to pillage. When it comes to evolution, men have taken the pick-and-choose path when it comes to traits development, just as we do with maturity traits.

I feel a song coming on.
