Your pic (posted along with your piece) makes the combination of the music and your time carved face, a kaleidoscopic journey through your life. Everyone of our generation can relate to this, and re-walk our own paths while listening. Thank you.

Hi Gerry:

The "needle sound" one would hear when listening to a record... was a nice touch at the intro and outro of this thoughtful piece. A bit reflective, a bit sad sounding in places... but so soothingly melodic. Thanks for sharing your work with us. Did I detect a Spanish influence in the overall theme?

Best regards, ----Dave

Thank you Perry for your kind comments, as we get older we have more time to look back. Not always a good idea but inevitable I guess.

Hi Dave, yes I thought the needle would be a nice touch. Spanish influence? Could well be as I have lived and worked here for over 30 years also the nylon stringed classical guitar helps in that respect. Thanks as always for listening and commenting.

Very cool, Gerry. It put me in a reflective mood and, as always, took me some place. Probably would have got there without the scratchy needle though... smile

Ricki

Hi Ricki,

Ah the scratchy bit LOL. Childhood memory of staying at a rented seaside bungalow that had a wind up gramophone in it, yes including the trumpet. I was very young maybe 6 or 7 I think. Bottom line there were a lot of 78's mainly of a Lady called Winnifred Atwell a pianist who played Boogie Woogie and Ragtime. The sheer joy of playing those records and yes, the scratchy sound they all started and ended with. So there you go Ricki the hiss/scratchy needle is an integral part of my memory LOL

Take care, best,

Gerry

Gerry,

That’s a fine roll you’re on. Easily something that could accompany a film score. Nice mood piece, and fine production on this one. I felt myself waiting for some uptick or change up towards the end, and wasn’t a fan of the fairy dust music at the very end (it kinda worked in the beginning). But all in all, pretty on the ears.

All the best,

Deej
